JQG4
Hi all I have a 2016 LWB with 122k miles. It runs great, other than an occasional really bad vibration at low idle. Moving to neutral reduces vibration, which makes me think motor mount. Has any one else changed mounts because of a similar issue? Any idea on costs? Thanks! Don Ridley
Check for misfires using a scan tool. You may have an ignition problem that can be solved with plugs and/or coil packs. JQG4
Willygee
Also check for carbon build up in the throttle body. Any CES illuminated?
Fifty150
With 122,000 miles, if those are the original spark plugs, I would bet on a misfire. Even without a scan tool to check for misfires, the first thing that I would do is change the plugs and coil packs.

zalienz
I have a 2017 work TC with the same mileage and I also have a bad vibration at idle. While a misfire could definitely cause the symptom, I'm more inclined to think weak engine mounts. My spark plugs were replaced at 120k and there was no difference in the vibration. Today's computer systems are very sensitive to misfire conditions as when a cylinder misfires, the unburned fuel goes out the exhaust and can internally melt catalytic converters if it continues. The oxygen sensors will quickly detect this and illuminate the check engine light. If consistent - think dead coil or spark plug etc, the check engine light will flash to get your attention. I have not had my engine mounts replaced, but plan on bring the issue up at my next service interval, which is coming up soon. I'll re-post after a diagnosis. Don Ridley
I agree that it would take a significant misfire to cause hard idling. The rear engine/transmission mount greatly dampens vibrations. I installed a hard rubber performance-type mount and this created unacceptable vibration and rattle at idle. This motor mount is very easy to inspect and change. Two bolts are easy to access once the vehicle is raised. Look for broken rubber in the center section.
JQG4
I just had it at the garage. Of course it's an intermittent vibration and of course they couldn't duplicate it. Motor mounts and belts all look fine. This is a place I generally trust. They checked the vehicle end to end, and all I ended up with was a $71 shop fee. The attached video might give you a better idea of sound, though it's short to fit the 10 Meg limit. 20211111_135118.mp4
Don Ridley
Do you have any accessories running (fan, AC...etc)? Did the shop scan for any codes? You may have to drive it until it gets bad enough to diagnose.
Michael C
My 2012 was vibrating Bad, while van shook so much I was sure I had a major engine problem. ajh25
My 2020 Connect is making this same noise. The dealer has had it for a couple days now searching for the issue. Did you ever figure this one out? Edited December 19, 2023 by ajh25
