It said, "Welcome, introduce yourself" but I didn't see where to write that, so I hit "create new topic". Anyway, I'm new. Bought my 2019 Transit Connect on May 30, 2019. Converting it into camper van so I can take it to the "Van Build" in Parker, AZ. Then to the RTR (Rubber Tramp Rendezvous) in January 2020. Nice job! Looks like you've got some interesting projects in the works. There's a separate discussion section for MODS, so please keep us updated on what you're doing. Make sure you can easily get to the jack, just in case. I never realized that with some other forumites who have shared their camper builds. In fact, one guy recently shoe horned in a shelving unit. There's no way he's going to be able to get to the jack easily. Maybe he already had that figured out. There is ample storage space under the deck where the second row seating footwell would normally be in a wagon model. Fifty150 Posted September 12, 2019 Share Posted September 12, 2019 Your build looks like it's coming along just fine. I've got the feeling that you will be a contributing member. The photo looks like you're already ahead of the game. You will surely be able to help others on the forum, and share tips & tricks. It's just me, but I don't like scissor jacks. If I were planning a road trip of any sort, I would want something better than the OEM scissor jack & tire tool kit. I've also found, at least for myself, that a 1/2" drive breaker bar provides much better leverage for taking off the lug nuts. But I get it. Not everyone wants to invest in a floor jack, or carry it around. That's why people have auto club memberships. So that you can simply call for help. My brother and I are talking about heading over to Parker for the "Van Build". It's only a 200 mi drive from home. Me in my 17' Connect and him in a 95' Ford E350 ambulance conversion.
