OLDSCHOOLFOOL
In the ever elusive quest for wheels for the Transit Connect, wheels that probably don't exist in the first place, I started doing some light reading about people mounting Saab (5x110) wheels on Volvos (5x108) and Volvo wheels on Saabs. According to the math this should work. With only 2mm difference in BC diameter, 1mm ( a mere .039") each side, there should be enough tolerance in the wheel hole to allow it. You would need to use wobble nuts (variation PCD lug nuts), but it should work.
sKiZo
Not sure I'd want to depend on any part with "wobble" in the description, eh. Remember the "uni-lug" aftermarket wheels? Used slots instead of holes so they'd fit a lot of different patterns, but wouldn't fit any of them right. The better ones had larger cutouts that would fit various adapters that were drilled for specific patterns, and those were actually a decent fit. OLDSCHOOLFOOL
Yeah, I kinda get that. I do remember the uni-lugs. 4.25 with the washer turned one way, 4,75 flipped around. Washers with holes in center for 4.5. Back then most cars were lug-centric and you were almost ASSURED some "wobble".
sKiZo
Tapered lug nuts are the way to go if you use anything other than the exact match wheels. Those should help center the slight difference in the Saab spacing pattern. OLDSCHOOLFOOL

My goal isn't Saab wheels, but to get some old school chrome wheels on it. Saab is just an example. There are some good looking Saab wheels out there but they are all too narrow for my application. Finding the right parts with the right specs is quite the challenge.
davidparker
I really want a set of these "old school" American Racing Torq Thrust, but a over $500 each, I'll have to pass... http://www.americanracing.com/wheel/25671/vnb425-torq-thrust-sl OLDSCHOOLFOOL
OLDSCHOOLFOOL
Not sure just what model you have. You're right, the price is prohibitive and that's just for the blank. You'd have to pay more for the custom drilling. I like the mirror finish personally. Edited October 1, 2018 by OLDSCHOOLFOOL add pic
jrm223
Have y'all looked on TireRack recently? 330 wheels that fit our TC2 vans (each style in 16/17/18" counts as 3 towards the 330) - the MSW Type 19 would look similar to the old school Torq Thrust wheels, 16x7 at $103/ea for silver painted or $124/ea for black. https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results.jsp?&autoMake=Ford&autoModel=Transit+Connect+Van&autoYear=2015&autoModClar=Long+Wheel+Base

Those are decent looking wheels but don't meet my particular needs. Tire Rack really sucks in that it will only allow you to search by vehicle, which is fine is you're looking to stay at factory specs plus or minus a little. I ain't that guy. davidparker
Thanks OldSchoolFool! I can justify that price and have bookmarked that link for future reference. If you end up with the "wobble" bolts, let me know how they work out. I'm not opposed to the concept. But, since I only have about 1,200 miles on my van, I'll probably wait until the spring before I pull the trigger on some wheels and tires. But I'm pretty certain, I will be getting something and those definitely fit the bill. The hub caps just aren't working for me.
