  1. A simple solution (you must have thought about it), add a gas pedal to the left of the break pedal. There are many companies that offer the adaptor. it also enables your mother to be positioned in the seat correctly for safety reasons.
  2. Fits my cell phone perfect, when it is in its case.
  3. The distance from the inside of the rear door to the overhead shelf is 89 inches. A 4X8 still wil not fit inside even with the front passenger seat removed.
  4. The Transit Connect battery is rated at 500 CCA (cold cranking amps). That figure does you no good. What you need to know is the RC (reserve capacity). It does not seem to be published for the Transit Connect battery. The RC is the time the battery can supply 25 amps before the battery voltage drops to 10.5 volts, the amount of voltage to still start and run the Transit Connect. On the Sears web site, the replacement battery for the Transit Connect (size 96R) has 590 CCA and 90 minutes RC. Even with a 1 amp fan going for 10 hours you should still be able to start the Transit Connect. The advise for a dry run is correct, try it out.
  5. No noise at all. Once you bolt it on, it does not move/shake/vibrate.
  6. With the front passenger seat pushed as far as it will go toward the dash, and the seat back also pushed forward, you have 86 inches from the middle of the seat back to the back door, 84 inches to the base of the seat. Of course, if you take out the passenger seat, no problem for the bike, but an issue for any passengers.
  7. The DRL on the Transit Connect are the low beam headlamps. Once you add the relay, after you start the Transit Connect, the headlamps come on when the headlamp switch is in the off position.
  8. Left front speaker / White with black stripe(+) and Gray with black stripe (-) Right front speaker / White with red stripe(+) and Gray with red stripe (-)
  9. I do not know anything about Transit Connects not shipping from Baltimore. I can tell you I drove past the Port of Baltimore this past Monday and passed a car trailer hauling five Transit Connects going north on I-95. Hope one was yours!
  10. The two front bumper covers are for tow hooks, (the rear bumper also has one). The tow hook is packed with your jack. First position on your lighting switch is for the parking lights. Pull out the switch and your front fog lamps go on, pull it out again and your rear fog lamps go on.
  11. Right headlamp connector, green wire with orange stripe, left headlamp connector, green wire with black stripe. Remember, left side is the sterring wheel side in the US. Good luck, those connectors are tough to get to.
  12. I spent more than a few hours looking for this solution on the internet. I found the same issue on the UK Transit connect site, but no solution. The fix is very easy. Ask your Ford dealer! There is a TSB that solves the issue. Your Ford dealer "flashes" the radio, through the OBD connector, with a programing re-fresh. All fixed! This forum may now have the only answer to the date issue on the internet! I hope it helps others.
  13. Denise, look at the Powertrain Tech/FSWERK string on the forum. Sunnysmith bought a Transit Connect fitted out as a limo and added a turbo. It is the limo part that may interest you. The Transit Connect has 3rd row seating. Same set of three across seating as the second row. The seats were mounted on a platform so leg room was not an issue. Head room also was not an issue. Contact Sunnysmith and see if he has any pictures of the interior he can post. The only one's I see are of the first and second row. Sunnysmith has been very helpfull in documenting all the work done on his Transit Connect.
  14. There are two large grommets in the firewall behind and slightly above the brake pedal. If you remove them and then look under the hood and behind the battery, you can see into the interior. I ran my wiring through the grommets when I added my driving and fog lamps. Take a look at my gallery pictures to see how they turned out. Good luck.
  15. Cabmeister, read the FSWerks Turbo string by SunnySmith in this same section. Sunny added a second trans cooler with the turbo upgrade.
  16. Or...... Since I am sure you do not have the dish in operation while moving, how about this alternative......... Mount 3 coax connectors (right angle N(?) female connector with solder end on the other end) in the plate that covers the european third brake light mounting hole in the left rear door. When you get to were you need to be, just connect the cables from the dish to the N connectors. As for connectivity to your communications gear, run the cables from the solder end of the connectors down through the door to the panel below the window. Do the same thing as outside except right angle connectors are not necessary. Now all you would have to do is connect the cables for your gear to the connectors inside the door and you now have connectivity to the dish. I did some thing similar, but on a simpler level. I mounted a right angle BNC female connector on the european brake light that fits in place of the American blank place. I then ran the coax through the door to the flex hose between the door and the body of the Transit Connect.. Then I ran the coax inside the panels up to the front to connect to my Ham Radio. I posted a picture in my gallery.
  17. Gordow, look for my explanation under Interior and Infotainment/Interior/Fuel Mileage Display. if you have any questions, just ask.
  18. As far as posts in this forum, only DJCASWEL has actually seen the roof brake light removed. It uses a two pin connector, so I do not think it will be large enough for your three coax cables. Another solution would be to run the coax past the roof brake light and down between the top edge of the door and the edge of the roof. There is plenty of room to pass the coax. Then run it through the right side of the rectangular roof vents. That gets you into the space between the interior roof lining and the roof. Seal the roof vent opening with Coax-Seal or some silicone sealent that does not react with the coax. Of course, since you do remote communications for a living, I am sure you already know everything I suggested!

Top is my distance to empty. Center is the trip odometer. Bottom is my average 28MPG
  20. As Azdamay said, it is usually possible to display various information in the instrument cluster. Here is how it is done on my 2010 Transit Connect. Press and hold the trip odometer reset button (the one on the left of the LCD readout) and turn the ignition switch to the start position. Release the reset button when the LCD readout says tESt (takes about 5 seconds). The first display is gAgE (it tests all the gauges). Then press the reset button 23 times to get to the average fuel economy (display will read rAFEand your mileage).Mine reads 28 which is what I get when I figure it out myself. There are 26 different displays,a few are, trouble codes(press 8 times), engine temp (press 19 times), battery voltage (press 21 times). To exit the display mode, just turn off the ignition. I have not found a way to keep any of the displays working when the Transit Connect is running.
  21. It has taken a while, but I have finally finished all the exterior lighting on my 2010 Transit connect. I have added, in addition to the two Hella Optilux work lamps, two Hella Micro FF driving lamps on top of the Aries Push Bar, and two Hella Micro FF fog lamps on the right front of the push bar. The placement of the fog lamps is interesting. The push bar comes with two holes pre-drilled on the right side for an adaptor to carry traffic cones. I used the two holes to mount the fog laps. I added a spacer to give the lamps a little more room to adjust. The fog lamp beam pattern still covers the left side of the road. I removed the plug that covers the hole where the aux jack fitsand mounted the switch for the fog and driving lights. The work lights are controled by the main lighting switch from a 2011 Transit connect. Living out in the country, I can now turn nightime into daytime! I have posted a few pictures in the gallery.
  22. Good question. His eBay website has many parts manuals available. I would think if it was a copy of a copywrited Motors/Mitchells they would be after him! Yet, the Ford parts fiche does not show removal time or refinish time. This parts manual does. So, the short answer must be a crash manual and awesomoparts must have permission to copy and sell it. I have found the parts numbers to many items I have replaced or changed. In fact, I have posted a few part numbers on this web site to help others. As I think you have also. Still well worth the money.
  23. Available on eBay for $6.99 Same list as used by body shops Search for "2010-2011 Ford Transit Connect parts list manual" awesomoparts is the seller After you pay for the manual he sends it to your email address in a .pdf I received mine in about 15 minutes! If you print it out, it is over 100 pages Incredible value.
