  1. My 2010 XL with manual locks does not have any automatic locking. I do not think that has changed but a forum member with a 2012 will need to confirm.
  2. Ford Transit Connect: Exterior: Brakes, Cargo, Chassis, Glass, Lighting, Towing → Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages Ken, fog lamps were the Number 1 topic on this forum back in 2009 and 2010. Read the "Fog Lamps" section of the above forum link. You will find out more about Transit Connect fog lamps then you want to know!
  3. I am sure you will receive many replies to your post. Here is some info to get you started........ The rear seats are not available from Ford. There are listings on eBay for totaled Transit Connects that will sell you rear seats. For the van model you are discussing, when they come into the country, they remove the rear seat and install a floor extension to cover the rear footwell. If you bought a new Transit Connect van, all you would need to do is remove the extension (it is bolted in) and the rear seat mounting locations become available to install your eBay seat.
  4. Keep in mind, the octane posted on U.S. pumps is the average of the MON method plus how it is meassured in Europe (RON method) divided by two. Look at the yellow sticker on the pump that displays the octane number. In little print under the octane number it shows R+M/2 as how the octane rating is calculated so 87 in the U.S. is not the same as 87 in Europe. RON method is used in Europe and is always higher than MON and the rating in the U.S.
  5. This was simple. There was a cap over the hole where the aux input jack would be. I just removed the cap and the Hella switch was the perfect fit.
  6. The fuel door lock cylinder is part number 2S6Z5828624A, $53.58 if you wanted to have one to experiment with.
  7. The only idea that comes to mind is to pull the relay for the Daytime Running Lights (DRL). it will take about 30 seconds. The relay location is in the DRL postings. If you can live without the DRL's. It is not an idea that you would want to do every day!
  8. Tell your dealer to find the TSB that tells them they need to re-flash. I had the same problem. I wonder if they removed the GPS antenna mounted behind the instrument cluster? If your Tom Tom has a external antenna connection, and the GPS antenna is still in the dash, you might be able to hook them up and improve your signal to the Tom Tom.
  9. I just replaced my orginal blades with the standard NAPA line. They attached and work fine.
  10. My center hub caps finally arrived. I posted a picture in My Gallery.
  11. The part number for the black grill is 9T1Z-8213-A, $56.83. The real problem is, you have to remove the bumper cover to remove the grill!! The lower bumper grill part number is 9T1Z-17K946-AB, $53.60, but my documentation does not mention any colors. My silver 2010 has a black grill and a grey lower bumper grill. You will have to ask your Ford dealer for more info if you go the replacement route.
  12. The wiring diagram for my 2010 shows white and gray speaker wires for the door speakers. The white is marked positive. The steering wheel control unit uses two wires on the 2010, white/black and brown/yellow. Hope that helps.
  13. I have also decided to go with the steel wheels minus the factory wheel covers. I have ordered the center hub caps (comes only in black) from a UK Ford dealer that has supplied some of us on this forum with UK only parts. I will post a picture when they arrive, should be this week. The hub caps I ordered cover only the exposed hub, not the lug nuts. The UK also has hub caps (comes only in silver) that cover the lug nuts. Speaking of lug nuts, it looks like you do not have the original factory lug nuts. The originals are very expensive from Ford. There is a posting on the forum about why.
  14. Perfect! One more suggestion if you do not mind. Check out Susquehanna MotorSports, www.rallylights.com. They carry the complete Hella line of lighting. Their website is a wealth of info. Very nice people to deal with. And no, I do not work for them! I went with the Hella Micro FF for a few reasons. They are rectangular to match the headlamps/the driving lights do not block too much of the grill/the two fog lamps fit in the existing holes for the cone carrier.
  15. Aires offers mounts that fit anywhere along the top tubular bar. Look at the photo of my installation in the Gallery. My top lights are Driving and the two lights on the right side are fog. The fog lamps are mounted in existing holes that are used for an attachment for carrying cones I do not use. Hope that helps.
  16. Looking forward to your further adventures! I am sure you checked, but if you have not, here is some info on light bars posted in the Forum..... I added a commercial version push bar from Aires and have a picture posted in the Photo Gallery. NCRANCHERO posted the Setina website for the conventional version of a push bar. ONTHEROAD added a light bar that mounts behind the license plate. Good luck!
  17. You need to find another Ford dealer. Of course the headlamps are adjustable! There are multiple posts on this forum on where and how to adjust the headlamps. Also at least one post with the same issue, headlights aimed too high. Sorry, no help on the door issue. Maybe the new Ford dealer you are going to find can help!
  18. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2011/10/gm-general-motors-chrysler-ford-uaw-jobs/1 October 13, 2011 from USA Today by way of the Detroit Free Press, mentions the Transit Connect being built in Kansas City. No mention of the Transit. More articles are mentioning the Transit then the Transit Connect. I am waiting for an article that mentions both being built in the USA!
  19. http://www.fordautos...ransit-connect/ This is from FordAutoShow confirming the Transit Connect will be built in the USA starting mid 2012. I am also reading articles that the engine/transmission will come from the new generation Focus.
  20. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/04/us-ford-uaw-factbox-idUSTRE79361K20111004 This article from Reuters says it is the Transit Connect.
  21. I read the Transit Connect info this morning in the online subscriber edition of Automotive News. it mentioned the Transit Connect and how it was built in Turkey. Later updates to the article added Transit production and dropped mention of the Transit Connect. Let's see which is correct. Maybe both?
  22. As per the new Ford/UAW contract, assembly of the Transit Connect will be at the Ford Kansas City plant.
  23. Take a look under the "Interior" section of this forum under "4522 Poly Liner Package". Forum member Hal, installed it and posted pictures and instructions. As can be seen, it covers the exposed wheel wells and walls of the Transit Connect. Cost is about $700 from www.industrialladder.com Ford will sell just the wheel well covers for about $400. Hope that helps.
  24. Tom, I just noticed you are in the UK. My comments applied to the USA version of the Transit Connect, although I think the bumper cover is the same on both sides of the Atlantic. No removable fog lamp grills.
  25. Tom, what year Transit Connect do you have? 2010 did not have fog lamps, 2011 they were added. In both cases, they did not have removable "grills". If you have holes where the fog lamps should be, someone cut holes out of the bumper cover (2010) or removed the fog lamps (2011).
