  1. This is what I'm currently using on the front of the Transit Connect.
  2. Perfect timing. It is winter. You don't have to go anywhere. "Test Drive" it by sleeping outside for a week. Perfect, since you're already street parking. A buddy of mine has chosen to spend nights out in his driveway, sleeping in his Subaru, so that he can make adjustments as needed for things like his bedding, adding power, trying to charge with a solar panel on his car's roof, et cetera. He figures that if he can "live" in his car during the winter, it will be perfect for summer road trips and camping.
  3. The driver can make all the difference in the world. The right driver behind the wheel, and you would think it's a different car altogether.
  4. Some people use flashing blue lights on personal vehicles. Off-duty cops, volunteer firefighters, or any kind of first responder who has to begin response in a personal vehicle. Obviously a Transit Connect will not be a pursuit vehicle.
  5. As I recall, I bought these off eBay for about half the price. 20 lamps, for about $10. $0.50 each unit. But I had to wait for shipping from China, which took almost 2 months.
  6. BSUPC, On Amazon, these come in red, blue, & green also. Just in case you want to set them up to flash and strobe. https://smile.amazon.com/Partsam-Marker-License-Trailer-Assembly/dp/B019MS9NH6/ref=sr_1_8?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1514098366&sr=1-8&keywords=blue+side+marker+lights
  7. Not flush mounted. It sticks out. Product description says 0.04". Product comes with a foam padding, so that after you install, it helps keep water from going in through the holes. Maybe it works. But if I'm concerned about water leaking in, I will use silicone.
  8. On the van, I am considering using a 30" light bar. This will put out more light than what most jurisdictions will allow on a public roadway. However, there really is no restriction for off-road use. On private roads, campgrounds, on private property such as a ranch or farm.........you do whatever you need to, in order to see what you want. Here in The City, whenever there is a power outage, I drive with the lights on, come to intersections and flash them with the strobe feature, and police and traffic control officers waive me on through. Whenever there is fog, I use the yellow lights without a problem. I also use my yellow lights when I go through tunnels, and in day time driving through Down Town and Financial District streets where traffic is heavy, and there are always double parked delivery trucks. I've never had an issue using my strobe lights driving through construction zones with workers on the side of the road, when the police have streets and lanes closed off for road construction. When the highway between CA & NV has heavy snow, the Highway Patrol closes the road, then leads small groups of cars across slowly. I am always allowed to use yellow lights and strobes flashing. https://smile.amazon.com/Multi-Color-Autofeel-Spotlights-Mounting-Brackets/dp/B07414KRSG/ref=lp_10718189011_1_9?srs=10718189011&ie=UTF8&qid=1514005633&sr=8-9
  9. On the pickup truck, the light bar tucked nicely into the air dam. On the van, the license plate add-on shelf did the job. I was undecided over using a 12" light bar with spot/flood combination, or 2 7" flood lights. I keep changing them back & forth. No worries, since they are not that expensive, and it's simply a matter of 2 nuts & bolts, and plugging it in.
  10. Installed to turn on with front mounted amber lights.
  11. I can see how a guy can fall for her.
  12. I've had it over a year now, and I'm still adding to it. Come to think of it, I've owned the pickup for 10 years now, and I'm still adding to it.
  13. Can someone explain what this is for, or how to use it?
  14. When you have rubber floors, you don't need mats. You simply hose out or mop the floors. Sounds stupid, I know. But I've always used a mop and bucket to clean the rubber floors of commercial vehicles. You could also use a wash rag, brush, and bucket of soapy water if you want to do it by hand.
  15. I have installed a lot of different light bars sourced from Amazon.com. Some have been better than others. Currently, I like RigidHorse & AutoFeel. Based upon what I see, most of these products are branded by different sellers, but come from the same factories in China. Some have better pricing. Some offer better product support and service. I use these 2 brands because they use the same power supply wiring harness, which is remote operated. Simply attach to battery under the hood, and connect to the light bar. No drilling holes in the firewall and dashboard, no additional wire runs to install a switch. A remote control key fob operates all of the lighting functions. Lights can illuminate in white/daylight, and amber. Lights can also be used as emergency lighting with flashing strobe patterns. The obvious is that the bigger the light bar, the LEDs, the higher the amp draw, and you get a higher lumen output putting more useable light on the road. https://smile.amazon.com/stores/node/11475974011?_encoding=UTF8&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Rigidhorse&ref_=bl_dp_s_web_11475974011 https://smile.amazon.com/AutoFeel/b/ref=bl_dp_s_web_10718189011?ie=UTF8&node=10718189011&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=AutoFeel Roll over image to zoom in AutoFeel LED Light Bar Straight, Autofeel 22" 256W 8D Quad Row Spotlights Combo Beam Light bar Amber lamp for Truck Jeep ATV UTV Wrangler SUV Dodge Ram 4x4 Ford Golf 2.2 out of 5 stars 21 customer reviews | 19 answered questions Price: $67.99 Free Shipping for Prime Members Roll over image to zoom in AutoFeel LED Light bar Curved, AutoFeel 52" 8D Quad Row Spot Flood Combo Beam Lightbar Off Road Auto Work LED Light Bar for Truck Jeep ATV UTV Wrangler SUV Dodge Ram 4x4 Ford Golf 4.0 out of 5 stars 149 customer reviews | 167 answered questions Price: $140.99 Free Shipping for Prime Members Rigidhorse 8D Quad Row LED Light Bar 7 Inch LED Spot Light Light Bar Accessories Combined use:7 inch with large size light bar use together (22 "32" 42 "52"), can make the lighting effect more significant $1599 8D Quad-Row Rigidhorse 22 inch Quad Row Light Bar Design: The unique 4 rows of high density LED chips and 8D lens make sure the light will be much bright $8699 $5099 $7999 $9099 $17099 10% off coupon 10% coupon available LED Light Bar Rigidhorse 20 Inch 139W 8D Dual-Model Light Bar DRL/Night Light Spot Light For SUV Truck ATV Pickup $4999 61 10% off coupon 10% coupon available LED Light Bar Rigidhorse 29 Inch 172W 8D Dual-Model Light Bar DRL/Night Light Spot Light For SUV Truck ATV Pickup $8499 61 LED Light Bar Rigidhorse 47 Inch 400W 8D Dual-Model Light Bar DRL/Night Light Spot Light For SUV Truck ATV Pickup $11199 61 ADD TO CART LED Light Bar Rigidhorse 38 Inch 300W 8D Dual-Model Light Bar DRL/Night Light Spot Light For SUV Truck ATV Pickup $10099 61 ADD TO CART $4099 $2999 $7099
  16. Oakland, California Police use the current generation Transit Connect for Crime Scene Unit. The City and County of San Francisco uses Transit Connects in many departments. Nobody uses it as a pursuit vehicle.
  17. As opposed to visiting a dealership, where you can pick up something loaded with every option, and negotiate the price. Maybe different for every location and dealership. But every car dealer is in business to move cars off their lot.

    2.5 breaks in

GM should do a better job of marketing, and be aggressive with fleet sales. This is the first I've ever heard of a hybrid pickup. And I've never seen one on the road. I'm in The City. Fleet vehicles are everywhere....from the tens of thousands of government vehicles, to local utilities, to construction companies, tradesmen, and industry specific distributors. Everywhere I go, there are tons of white trucks and vans. Mostly Ford trucks and vans.
