  1. Yes, I will take it in soon for an oil change.
  2. I did have one tire lower than the rest, but it seems to be holding air fine now. The light hasn't gone off even though I went out of my way to drive a steady pace above 50mph for at least 5 minutes. it is supposed to reset itself after 2 minutes of steady driving above 50.
  3. A cold front came through a while back, and the drop in tire pressure set of the light on my dash. I aired up the tires and the light won't go off. I tried driving at a steady speed and that didn't work. Ugh.
  4. It would be crazy for Ford to redesign the TC to have drum brakes in the rear. I don't believe it. I don't think he has ever seen one.
  5. But it makes great credit sense to finance even if you don't need to finance. History of good credit can come in handy if it ever becomes a requirement and it will save money on a loan.
  6. When I bought my TC, I already had financing ready. They didn't have low APR from Ford Credit, but they did have money back. Even though I had special ordered my TC, they took it off the top. I was very happy.
  7. No APR is a good thing if you can afford the notes for 36 months. But most of us on here have already bought a TC, so we are locked in.
  8. Did you figure it out? The SCP not configured means something is wrong with the key according to the internet search I did. No TX verify has something to do with the anti theft system, too.
  9. The Prius has instant start, where the engine turns off at traffic lights etc. A great idea. If Ford ever sells a hybrid TC, I would expect it to also have that feature.
  10. Not just worse mileage, but amazingly enough MORE carbon build up. The Ranger 4.0L had this odd result when using 93 octane. I think the TC is built to be a work van, like other trucks and it doesn't need high octane fuel. Besides, if you do the math, any better fuel economy you find with the more expensive fuel actually costs more because of the price of fuel doesn't improve mileage enough to pay for itself..
  11. I see several problems. 1. You are NOT expecting top mileage on a new vehicle during the first few hundred miles are you? Let it break in first. 2. If the van wants to use OD, let it. 3. Comparing mileage depends on the driving habits more than most people understand.
  12. I placed an image of my company log on my SYNC screen. Not very hard. Just load the exact size image onto a USB drive, plug it in and follow the options on the screen when you go to display options.
  13. That's the reason I ordered TWO extra keys with my new van. $150 for two keys is not bad today.
  14. I live in South Louisiana. If you folks don't know, that means a lot of heat. The sun even in the middle of winter heats up the cars to an incredible temperature. Since I have the bulkhead in my work van, I am worried about the heat in the back. I wonder if anyone has installed a vent for the back of their work van? Which one and how much? I see a few nice stainless steel solar powered vents. That looks attractive. I also worry about rain. We also get torrential rain here and I want to make sure it won't leak. Any thoughts?
  15. True. Todays engines are head and shoulders above the quality of older engines. I would guess that without abuse, the engine in the TC would easily do 300,000+ miles. The 4.6l V8 does 500,000+ in taxi service with the same technology.
  16. The owners manual doesn't say a whole about break in and nothing unusual. In fact, it might as well say "Don't drive like a fool" "Avoid driving too fast during the first 1000 miles (1600 k). Vary your speed frequently and change through the gears early. Do not labor the engine. Do not tow during the first 1000 miles." Not whole lot. Even though the dealer might say not to do it, I would do the first oil change a little earlier than the schedule says..
  17. The simplest way to improve performance at low cost would be to improve the engine breathing. Better intake through the use of cold air intake and free breathing exhaust. After those steps, chipping the computer would improve timing and engine management to improve performance, but I don't know anyone who makes a chip. hay, it's NOT a hotrod. Besides all of the above can alter your warranty coverage.
  18. Companies like Ranger, Weatherguard and others offer bulkheads. Many of them are available with or without windows and some have stiff wire mesh instead of solid construction.
  19. Knapheide makes liners for the interior walls of the Transit Connect. Google Simpleco+Wall Cladding. I still can't get links to imbed on this site.
  20. After looking closer, if you have a sheet of paper on the dash, they won't likely fall between the dash and windshield, because of the lip on the front edge of the dash. The sun shades are slid along the windshield, so they are more likely to go into the gap.
  21. All the bulkheads I have seen allow the seat to go all the way back on the track and lean back a decent amount. I wish the seat went back a little further myself.
  22. Probably does, But if they were that far out in front, you might not be able to reach them until you put on your hiking boots and made the trek out that far!!
  23. It is at 3:30: http://youtu.be/WUOmLXuS-x0
  24. Watching videos with test drives, I see that the version of the Transit Connect sold in England has a storage area in the pod above the dashboard! I am jealous. I want one of those. I also see that the van has a sunglass holder in the overhead console. I paid as much as the vans did, I want one of those also! [/whine]
  25. If you use a sun shade on your windshield like I do. (It saved the dashboard of my old Ranger for 17 years) Be aware that there is a gap between the dashboard and the windshield itself and in that gap, there is some sort of weatherstrip that is very sticky. If the sun shade falls into that gap, it will stick and you might tear that weatherstrip.
