If anybody can put a turbo kit together, Randy and the guys at FSWerks would be the ones. I started using their products back in 2001 when it was called Focus Sport. Still have several of their products on my Focus including the header. I just helped a friend of mine put one of their turbo kits on his 2007 Focus ST. Very nice installation. The transmission will be the weak spot and will need all the help (cooler, etc) you can give it. Don't know if they still are but at one time LenTech was making built-up auto trannys for the Focus. One of the cars that had one was pushing ~300HP and it seemed to be holding up.

Yeah, If I don't get mine lined up just right it doesn't want to go all the way into the filler neck. But then I have the same problem on my Focus and the wife's Buick. I think it all has to do with the sealed systems for emission control they put on the cars today. The TC is a little more difficult than the cars and I think that it is because of the angle of the fill pipe. The fill pipe on the TC is more vertical tha either of the cars so you have to put it in and then push it down.

That is the Echomaster backup camera that I got and some other people on here have also. It is nice to see that either Echomaster or someone has put all their stuff on EBay. I couldn't find it for sale on the net when I got mine before Christmas. I had to call Echomaster directly and convince them to sell to me since they usually are wholesale only. The camera works great and doesn't stand out like a sore thumb like some of them do. I have mine hooked to an Alpine 900 headunit and wired so than anytime I put it in reverse the display automatically switches to the camera.

Zepper: What is the name used for the wheels you got. I looked at swedespeed and didn't see them pictured.

Finally got mine in last weekend. Had to do a bunch of trimming to get it to fit the wagon with the seats. Had to cut holes in it for the seat mounting and had to shorten the front since we could not get it to fold down into the footwell with out a bunch of wrinkles. Oveall I am very pleased with it and I know how it will hold up based on previous use in my pickup.

Probably never. Ford does not seem to like diesel for anything less than a 3/4 ton truck. Earlier this year I attended a presentation by one of the Ford Marketing folks from Detroit who said that in the next 3 years all Ford vehicles except for the big trucks would have EcoBoost engines. EcoBoost engines are turbocharged, direct injection, gasoline engines.

BedRug Flooring Options
Hal replied to jibityjones's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
At this time they are only making the VanRug and VanMat for the cargo van version of the TC. I have a wagon and e-mailed them asking when they might be coming out with a wagon version. Their reply was that they did not at this time plan to do a wagon version but that several people had modified a van version to fit. I really like their products having used them in several pickup trucks. So I went ahead and ordered a VanRug to see put in my TC. Since the company does not sell direct I had to find a local dealer. (the same place where I got the ones for my pickups). Cost was ~$200. It is now laying on my basement floor to flatten out (came all rolled up). Some time in the next week or so I will be installing it and will make a "how-to" thread when I do. -

As far as I know they are standard E-tracks. Here is a link to the Adrian Steel page with them on. 4522 package page The box contains 2 E-Tracks, 2 straps, and all the mounting hardware needed. I am looking to get $100 plus shipping (box is heavy) for the whole package.

If you are talking about the 18x8 wheels used on the European version of the Focus ST, they will fit with no problems or spacers. If your are talking about the 17x7 wheels used on the US version of the Focus ST, they won't even fit. Both sets of wheels are 52.5mm offset so no spacers needed. But the bolt circle on the Euro ST and the TC are 5 x 108 and the US ST is 4 x 108

Yes, there are things you can plug in to simulate the presence of an airbag. Techs use them when they are troubleshooting the airbag circuits. IIRC, you have to get them from a Ford Dealer and they cost ~ $30. I will try to find more info, Iknow I have seen them mentioned on FocalJet. Also, We have an indicator that showswhen the passenger airbag is inactive (no one in the seat) . My F-150 had a key slot so that I could turn off the passenger airbag. Since the TC also comes as a 2 seater I wonder if there is a way to do it in the TC? Need to do some research.

I would get it to the dealer to be checked. Our gas pedal is just a reostat that sends a signal to an electrically operated throttle. So you have two different parts to the whole system. The probelm may be with the pedal or with the throttle body or a combination of both.

ALERT Yesterday my power steering started to get very stiff in slow speed turns. I called my dealership and took it in today. There is a bolt on the bottom of the battery tray which can rub on a power steering hose eventually wearing thru causing complete fluid loss. By the time I got my TC to the dealership it had pumped most of the steering fluid out. According to the mechaic at the dealership this is the 3rd TC they have had this problem with. I suggest that everyone get their TC checked for this problem. My Tc only has 3500 miles on it so I don't think it is a problem with all TC's but you should check it anyhow.

I'll never come close to 1600 pounds in the rear and I can always add a little air if I need to. The problem with that high a pressure is that it makes it very susceptible to lift-throttle oversteer as I found out . I can handle it but not sure the wife can. Tire pressure has the least effect on body lean of all the components involved. Spring rate is the primary factor followed by sway bar rate then shock absorber valving with tire pressure bringing up the end. The TC has plenty of spring rate and a monster sway bar under the rear so body lean doesn' seem to be a problem. I didn't notice it in the few laps I got to do on the track at Summit Point. The next time I get to Summit Point I am going to take the pyrometer and check some tire temps. With that kind of pressure I will bet the difference between the edges and center of the tread will be at least 15*

Yes, definitely leave the OD on. Also use the cruise control (if you have it) as much as possible. Haven't had the TC long enough to determine but with my Focus using cruise control on the highway will get me an extra 5mpg over my lead foot. Based on my experience with a Focus it takes 5 to 8k miles for the engine to get settled in and give the best mileage.

My TPMS light came on today. As much as I would like to delete that whole mess, I hadn't touched it or done anything to the tires or pressures since I bought the TC several months ago. When I got home and checked the pressures the fronts were at 38psi which is to be expected since I had just driven about 20 miles. The rears were both at 40psi which is kind of strange. First, the rears are supposed to be set at 49psi . Since the light didn't come on till they were at 40 psi either the variance allowed is much larger than we have been told or the actual pressure setting is lower than the 49psi on the door sticker. Second, since both tires dropped evenly they either weren't set at 49psi to start with or we are going to have a problem maitaining the "required" pressure. The idea of a tire dropping 9 psi in just over 3 months/3k miles is a little strange especially since we have not had any extreme temperature changes in that time. I'ts been consistently hot around here the whole time I have owned the TC. I reset the rears to 49psi and took it for a drive. I didn't even get a block before the light went out and stayed out for the 10 miles I drove it. I am going to do some experimenting. If the light doesn't come on till it drops to 40psi then I should be able to run 42-45 psi continuously which would be better than the IMO ridiculously high 49psi on the sticker. I really wish I could get it reset to 36psi the same as the fornt but haven't found a way to do that yet.

Had my push pins replaced. If I had known what they were going to use I might have told them forget it. New push pin have a much larger thick sort of ugly looking head on them.

You need a stiff putty knife and one of the removal tools made for those fasteners. The removal tool can be purchased at an auto parts store for ~$10.

Now I know the TC is based on the Focus. I had that problem with my 2001 Focus and it has been a recurring problem on some Focuses ever since. BTW: I fixed my focus myself.

Nope. These are made for cargo vans where you store the jack under the floor extension.

Stopped at the dealership today to order a new seatbelt to replace the one I screwed up. When I ordered it the recall notice for my Tc came up on the screen. No one there at the time knew any more than "HEADLINER PUSHPIN REPLACEMENT" either. Guess I'll find out when my letter comes or when they do it the seatbelt shows up first.
