The real question is why are you putting on Mud flaps . The Back flaps are to protect the driver behind you and if it does not get down close to the road it gets missed by the spray and debris. If you are interested in protecting your own vehicle then the important flap is the one behind the front wheel . If this flap is big enough it will protect all the important stuff between the two wheels. The door bottoms the Rocker panels and the lower slide door track assembly, Brake and fuel lines Do you live on a Dirt Road . Nice could have a different Definition.

Euro plate holder backplate is usually made of holes in different positions so you can mount it any way possible in pretty much 10 mm steps. How's yours?

drilled another set of holes in the rear license plate, about 1-1/4" lower and remounted the plate higher so that it now sits inside the recessed area around the plate. left about a 3/16" gap between the top of the plate and the black plastic above it. also added a strip of Black High-Density Rubber Foam Weatherstrip Tape to the top edge of the plate so the metal doesn't touch the paint. I think it looks better and the extra set of holes in the plate don't seem to be an issue. see the BEFORE and AFTER pics below. BEFORE AFTER
