mcfiddles
My 2014 TC Titanium has been fun so far - just 4500 miles. But, one small thing concerned me....the radio didn't seem as loud or as solid quality as I was expecting. I have the AM/FM single CD but with the Sirius/Sync/back up Cam $840 option. I almost felt as if there were a couple of speakers not hooked up! I was further confused by my loaner Focus titanium today (mines in for it's 5000 mile checkup) which appears to have exactly the same system - except at half volume it's deafening. Can anyone guide me as to the difference, here?! Thank you! Simon
G B L
I just have the radio with the Cd, go the sound controls and use the Balance and fade to check all the speakers and then set them in the middle of the range. Then see how the Volume is If the two radios are same the Tc has much more volume so you will need more Volume.
DonShockley
My 2015 TC wagon had a setting that enhanced the balance for the driver only. It made a noticeable difference.
thx138
On my 2015 there is a speed volume setting, it automatically raises the volume while driving and lowers it when stopped. I thought mine volume was low until I adjusted that setting.
mcfiddles
Both the "driver balance" setting and the speed adjustment are available on my 2014, and these have helped somewhat now I found them.....! I think ultimately I may put an inline amplifier like the Alpine KTP-445U in there. Hopefully I will find time to pull the driver door panel soon and see the quality of the stock speakers. My Transit Connect has tweeters in the A pillars by the dash, too. Last night I set the volume to about half and physically put my ear to the tweeter and the door speaker to make sure they were working. I didn't have to pull away from either... When I asked the service advisor about specs for the audio system he said I wouldn't find that proprietary information in the manual. How do people find out just what the head unit is? mrtn
1) Door insulation 2) Speaker upgrade 3) Amp
