Willie
Has anyone personally performed a tire rotation along with the procedure for resetting the tire pressure monitoring system? If so, how did it go for you? I ask because I’m considering doing this soon.
JWWOODY
PLEASE READ IN THE TIRE AND WHEELS SECTION FOR THE TPMS RESET PROCEEDURE, AND FOLLOW THE ROTATION STEPS IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. SINCE IF HAVE DIFFERENT WHEELS WITH DIRECTIONAL TIRES, I ROTATE MINE FRONT TO BACK ON THE SAME SIDE. I DO IT EVERY 10,000 MILES AND RESET THE PRESSURES ACCORDINGLY. Willie
Well of course I read the directions for the procedure, which is why I was asking about anyone else’s experiences with it. Anyone?
ncranchero
Rotated mine last week, no problems. I have the "reset tool" from my E250 and followed the instructions in the manual for entry into the training process, then reset them holding the tool AT the stem, instead of 180 degrees off that my E250 specified. Willie
Now we’re getting somewhere! Thanks NC. What does the tool do?
ncranchero
It simply resets the wheel pressure sensors to the proper "setting" when you rotate your tires. 36psi front/49psi rear.

ncranchero
I'd try eBay or Craigslist because FOMOCO is proud of them from what I've heard. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-OEM-TIRE-PRESSURE-MONITOR-RESET-TOOL-TPMS-RESET-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem43a0569c3bQQitemZ290452839483QQptZMotorsQ5fAutomotiveQ5fTools I'd have to look a while or try the magnet trick before paying $40 for one.
