Loading ramp questions??

Recommended Posts

I just bought a new 2015 lwb transit and I love it. For my line of work at times I have to load up pretty heavy things that may require a ramp to push them up. Anyone using a foldable ramp or anything similar to that to address this issue? I'd appreciate any feedback

welcome to the forum. congrats on your new TC - cargo version I'm guessing.

can't help you on a ramp but can say the load height is great on this van. very easy to get things in/out.

heavier things that I've moved so far I lean on the edge of the tailgate and lift in. the back end is sturdy and easy to do this with.

good luck!

I have a motorcycle ramp, great for rolling my scooters in and out.  Low floor height is great and makes it not difficult.  Think the ramp came from Cycle Gear.  Some places sell two ramps for lawn mowers and 4 wheelers.  Its aluminum and very light but has cross bars instead of a solid ramp.  OK with 10" scooter wheels but would not be good for smaller wheels.  There are wide versions of this type or ramp available.  In the photo the ramp is folded and stored beside the scooter.  The rear seats are out which makes it lower.  The middle seats are captains chairs and the front wheel of the scooter fits between them.  Depending on the weight and wheel size of what is being rolled into the van plywood could be used to cover the ramp.

Nice part of a low floor height is the scooter can be rolled into the van without too much effort and then while holding it in place I can step into the van and put it on the center stand and then tie it down.
