slantalpha
I bought a used TC not too long ago. Lately, I've noticed that it downshifts when I'm coming to a stop at the light or stop sign. The shifting isn't jerky, but I do notice it. Is that normal? It's an automatic transmission and I haven't noticed any other vehicles do it. mrtn
Which year? In my experience 2014+ it's normal.
slantalpha
Yep, mine's a 2016. It's odd though, I've never had any other vehicles do the same thing. Maybe it's a Ford special ?
Don Ridley
Are you in Sport mode on the shifter? Sport mode will downshift when coasting down very steep hills. I have not paid attention closely when coming to a stop.
G B L
This transmission module definitely takes a very active roll. It holds speed up and down hill in Cruise and it shifts to put the Transmission in the correct gear for the next acceleration. It also seems to know when the TC has extra load like pulling a trailer .
Jmrkav
My 2020 does that. It's the torque converter unlocking.
