Four T50 Torx tie-downs or six?

Recommended Posts

I have a 2021 TC LWB, and am planning to put a sheet of ply down right over the vinyl, using the existing tie-down locations. (currently T50 Torx)

I only seem to have 4 of them, but in a lot of specs I see online they show an extra pair on the floor right near the back doors.

My floor has a rectangular imprint in that location on each side, should I assume if I cut through the vinyl there there will be another tie-down access point? (the same M10 1.5)

Some photos/drawings of other TCs showing this extra rear pair, and a photo of what mine looks like below:

Thank you in advance!

Pics attached are from my 2015 Cargo.

No  tie-downs in the rear.

Four total: two in the middle and two in the front.

I have a sheet of 1/2 or 5/8" plywood covering the entire deck and it's bolted down in the middle, only because I had holes punched through the plywood and carpet for a temp seat bracket.  It's not really necessary to hold the plywood in place. Initially I removed the entire vinyl mat, added sound proofing, separated the white foam part from the mat and put the foam padding back to fill the grooves in the deck. Plywood on top of the foam fits nicely and adds good insulation and sound proofing. The plywood is carpeted.

It's been almost 6 yrs but I seem to remember smaller, less robust tie downs in the very rear in my 2016 LWB.

My plywood is held down by just 2 bolts in the tie down holes by the middle shelf.

Because I wanted no breaks in the plywood,I moved the D rings and bolts to what I think are the seatbelt mounting holes on the side walls.Much easier access for ratchet straps or bungies. It helps to have a headboard to secure against.
