This has got to have been asked before but I tried the search and can't find it. For specifics, I'm going to be doing my first oil change on a 2014 Ford Transit Connect with the 1.6L Ecoboost. Oil filter is on the side (read that as a pain in the .....). When installing the new filter is there any advantage/need to prefill the new filter with oil before installing it ??????? Had a tech tell me because it's the Ecoboost it must be filled first or I'll burn out the turbo. Since the filter is on the side I can't imagine I could get very much oil in it. Not to mention the filter is a pain to put in and take out. Looking for some help from someone who has "been there done that" SORRY, ALSO POSTED THIS IN THE WRONG FORUM !!!!!

No help with part numbers here. just wanted to add myself to the list of folks with front wheel bearing issues. RF at 50,000 miles and starting to get the squeeeeeeks again at 80,000. Pain in the wallet !!!

I made one out of a CD holder. It is supposed to hold about 10 CD,s and slips over the visor. When the Sun is on the Left I can unhook the visor and pull it ovever and slide the CD holder out to cover the window. Cheap fix!

Just replaced pads (second time) and rotors 48,000. AWFUL early !!!
-
I purchased similar ones on E-Bay. After market caps look a LOT better !!! You probably won't have this problem where you are but around here that shiny chrome look gets eaten up by Salt. I still like them better.
-
You should have the updated pads. Even the new ones don't last that long.
-
I just found a rust spot above the rear window on the drivers side. Buffed most of it off with cleaner wax. Still has some rust showing. Need to take care of it before the next Salt season.

Too bad !!!! Would have been nice to have someone else from Michigan !!!!! I don't have any help with the bolt size but I have had trouble with mine coming loose.
-
I lost one to a pothole. I know, hard to imagine in Michigan............. ROTFLM@O http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-15-Hubcaps-Rim-Wheel-Covers-Hub-Cap-Set-Free-Ship-/290570004900?fits=Model:Transit%20Connect&hash=item43a75269a4&item=290570004900&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr Got 4 for a little more than the cost of 1 OEM. May be a little cheesy to some but I like them !!

I'm all ears here !!!!! Just found mine in the driveway !!!

Not sure what the "auto start" thing is but the recirclation is the same as what you would use for the AC. It just keeps recirculating the inside air so no make up air is brought in from the outside. It's the button right next to the AC button with something like a sideways U on it. FWIW, I think the heater is really good. When I headed out this morning it was -4 (got to love Michigan). Heats up fast and does a great job of keeping me warm and I like it hot.
-
Your right, that sounds like a great option for here in Michigan. Might have to consider it when the time comes for a new one !!
-
Wow !!!! Never heard of that before. Sorry to hear of your trouble !! Was it a REALLY cold day ???? Could you provide any info that would tell what not to do to help others/me not have this happen .
-
Congrats on the new ride !!! Reading through your list of options, full glass package with heated windscreen and mirrors. What is that ?? Welcome again !!
-
Thanks !!!! Looks like what I want. Need to order a pair!
-
Good to hear you like them !!!! Any way you could post a couple of photos ???????
-
Congrats and welcome !!!

sounds like it's time to find a new Ford dealer. -
Headlights
Stan MI replied to Southpaw's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lights, Mirrors, Window Tint & Wipers
I got that all the time when I first got the van. Headlights weren't adjusted at the correct height from the factory. Look in your owners manual and it will tell you how to adjust the beam down a little. Fixed mine easily.
