  1. Does anyone else feel like they need more lighting on their van? I find myself engaged in nocturnal activities. We go night fishing a lot. It's really just an excuse to go out to the water, and drink beer. But we still put our lines in the water, and sometimes we catch something. The crab pots always fill, so we never go home empty. My buddies & I also like bonfires at the beach. So I've been using an aftermarket LED light bar with my pickup. Thinking about adding 1 to the van also.
  2. They are good to have if you have to park unconventionally on the side of the road. Depending on the state that you're in, there are different regulations for the use of flashing lights, and what colors you an use. It's not like I'm just double parking to run personal errands, because I'm too lazy to find a parking space and walk. On the rare occasion, I may be called in on a day off to respond to a critical incident. You never know what could happen, or when it will happen, when you're in the public safety sector. I used yellow, instead of red or blue, because it matches the fog lights. The lights turn on with the fog lights, and flash with the fog lights. Yellow is more visible, especially in the fog. Or is that just an urban myth, and that's why people don't use yellow fog lights like they used to? I defy the science. I would rather have yellow lights, as opposed to white lights, in the snow, or in the fog.
  3. That is fantastic. Now you can eat Hooters wings in your van.
  4. I ended up installing extra amber lights into that little piece of plastic trim above the OEM tail lights. They turn on when I turn on my fog lights. And they also flash & strobe.
  5. I have an XL. My solution was old school. Aftermarket, bolt-on fog lights. LED that will illuminate in white or yellow, a handful of different strobe patterns that I can use for warning lights, and it's all operated by a key chain fob remote control. No drilling through the firewall, or drilling into the dashboard.
  6. These worked on my Transit Connect. PNP - Plug N Play No hyperflash. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071JBDTLG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  8. Vans and minivans are all over Asia. In a lot of places, vans & minivans are the equivalent of the American "pimp mobile". And everyone has curtains in their vans. http://www.sparktecmotorsports.com/crt-002b.html?utm_source=googlepepla&utm_medium=adwords&id=41477300408&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8YXcupb21gIVC41pCh11BwarEAQYAyABEgKAK_D_BwE Spec-D Universal VIP Sliding Window Visor Curtain (Pair) List Price: $40.00 Your Price: $52.23 Manufacturer: Spec-D Tuning Part #: CRT-002B
  9. I didn't give it any thought at all when I wanted to switch out the interior lights with LED lights. I got a trim panel tool, and popped them out. I should have taken a photo to share. But trim panel tools are just like little plastic pry bars. Wedge it in, give it a little nudge, and it pops out.
  10. The lift is not that expensive. Think of the use you'll get out of it within your lifetime of vehicle ownership. What is really expensive is the real estate and building that you will need to set up the lift in. I don't know about you guys. But I find it very difficult to have any sort of workshop when you live in a walk-up apartment. Hard to get anything done on the 3rd floor of a brownstone. Your landlord and neighbors just don't get it when one room of your rental unit has a work bench, power tools, and lots of noise.

Greetings. Look forward to seeing you on the road.
  12. For so many years, I drove around in commercial cargo vans, wishing I had an interior, with seats, and some insulation. Now, I wish I didn't have all that interior. Panels and headliners get in the way when you are doing modifications. Just imagine if you had a headliner, interior lights, and wiring sandwiched between the headliner and roof. What a pain it would have been to remove all that stuff, since the 3rd row interior light and wiring harness would be just about in that same position, and you can't run the risk of cutting the wiring. There there's making the cuts into the headliner, and sourcing & fabricating trim panels to fit in with the headliner.
  13. I think there are a couple of members here in The SouthLAnd. If you were up north, I would make an offer.
  14. With all of this camping, has anyone installed a light bar?
  15. Those strip lights can also be wired up to strobe. Then you can mount them on the windshield and back window for warning lights.
  16. Showers are only for those who care about hygiene. I've been on motorcycle rides with guys who only cared about drinking beer, and pissing........and they smelled like it too. You try not to make a habit out of smelling outlaw bikers.......but with some of these guys.......you're not tough enough until you stop bathing. It doesn't matter that you can hold your own in a bar fight, and you've stabbed more people more people before lunch, than some people do their whole lives. You're still a sissy because you like to keep clean. Honestly, I can only handle so much brotherhood when my brothers stink like rotten fish and urine. Darn it all with all the hugging and kissing, just because you have the same patches sewn onto your jacket.
  17. Even funnier that on my truck, I have no problem with bolting on a push bumper, off road light bar, nerf bars........only to take great pains in taking apart my factory light housings to hide my flashing emergency strobe lights. Sure, the off road lighting and gear looks normal on a pick up truck. But don't let anyone catch on that it's an unmarked response vehicle. So the flashing lights and siren speaker are hidden. Even my sister has a bull bar and LED light bar bolted onto the front of her Honda......thanks to my brother-in-law who thought it would be funny to do that to a soccer mom grocery getter.
  18. I get it. Some guys would rather not have all sorts of extra lights bolted all over their car. Only guys with trucks and Jeeps bolt-on accessories.....winches, push bumpers, lights, nerf bars, et cetera.
  19. Vinyl is good. Easy to clean. And you won't cry over it when it rips or gets a cigarette burn. Plus, pleather, naugahyde, and vinyl gives you that 70's feel.
