In the newer wagon LWB, are there any tie-down rings inside with the seats folded? I want to secure my fridge/freezer with a cable.

My Connect is in production with a build date of 11/17/2017 -
Yes, they are great fridges. I'm using the cutoff voltage on High, works great and I don't have to worry about a dead battery.

This is all great information, you two are having a good discussion on this subject, it is very interesting. The fridge/freezer I bought is an ARB Fridge Freezer 50 QT (10800472), supposedly one of the best. I bought it because it has three battery protection modes and draws very low intermittent amp draw. I'm currently using it in my 2016 Ford Edge with a regular battery. I've left the fridge running and set to 34 degrees F for 2 days without problem. It can go down to 0 degrees and make ice cubes. It hardly cycles on and off, quite amazing. But, I'm sure this is not good on a regular battery, so, this is why I want an AGM for my ordered Transit Connect. I'd buy an AGM battery right now for the Edge if I could pull it and put it in the Connect when I get it, but don't want to take the chance it won't fit. Here's the fridge/freezer and specs... They say it draws an intermittent 1.35 amps per hour. here's the three settings for the battery monitoring. I leave it on the safest setting of HIGH. On this setting it has never cut off yet. I have seen my battery at 11.9v, but my Edge still started with no noticeable degradation in cranking. BATTERY MONITOR MODE LOW MED HIGH Switch off voltage – 12V DC 10.1V 11.4V 11.8V Restart voltage – 12V DC 11.1V 12.2V 12.6V Here's the Fridge/Freezer and specs at the manufactures web site. Has anyone replaced their under-hood battery with a high quality AGM battery? When I look online for 2016/2017 Transit Connect batteries it doesn't seem like anyone lists them, maybe the size is weird? I have an ARB Portable Fridge Freezer I'd like to run for short trips and I'd feel better with an AGM battery. At this point I don't want to add another battery, just upgrade the under-hood battery. If anyone has, what make and model? Thanks, Tom

I think the pins are only with the carpet option, it looks like you have a vinyl floor. -

Thank you mrtn and engineer -
This must be an expensive windshield? Hopefully it will make no difference with insurance.

Help me decide, 2nd row Buckets or Bench?
Tom899 replied to Tom899's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Hope so... -
Thanks for the replies. I'll keep digging and let you know if I find something. I have an ARB 50qt fridge/freezer that I'll be mounting in the back and thought the upfitter wiring might make it easier to wire direct. the upfitter is $50, if it turns out to be useless, I won't feel real bad. I'll defiantly let all of you know once I get it and dig into it myself.

Help me decide, 2nd row Buckets or Bench?
Tom899 replied to Tom899's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
I placed my order yesterday! I went with the 60/40 bench seat, thanks everyone for your input! Other paid options.. 2018 Transit Connect Titanium LWB Wagon - Race Red Quickclear Electric Windshield Defroster Trailer Tow Package Blind Spot Information System Forward and Reverse Sensing System 17-inch Aluminum Wheels Aircraft Style Mid-Vehicle Overhead Console Upfitter Wiring Harness (Wish I knew what is included with this option?) Remote Start with Perimeter Alarm Now the wait! I have no idea when I might get it? I'm guessing 4-6 months! -
I just ordered a 2018 Titanium LWB Transit Connect wagon yesterday. One of the options I ordered was the "Upfitter Wiring Harness", about $50. I can't seem to find out any detailed information on what this includes? Switches? Wire pigtails? Connectors? The regular full size Transit Has info but nothing on the Connect for details. Does anyone have this option or know what exactly comes with it? Thanks for any information. Tom

Thanks Don! With this information I think it will just clear my garage opening with the Yakima cargo cage installed. I will go ahead and order the factory crossbars when I place my Transit Connect order next week. Thanks again, Tom
-
Hello, if anyone has the factory roof rack crossbar option, can you please measure how much height this adds to the 72" high roof? I have a Yakima cage that is 7" high, so with the 72" roof height, that leaves me 5" before I reach the 7' garage door height. Thanks, I appreciate it! Tom

Help me decide, 2nd row Buckets or Bench?
Tom899 replied to Tom899's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Thanks Don for all the good info. I do need the LWB to haul my trike, it's long! I wish they made the LWB in the same seat configuration as the SWB, that would be nice! -
I will be ordering a 2018 LWB Titanium Transit Connect Wagon. It comes with Captain Chairs in the second row, but you can order a Bench seat as no cost option. It's just the wife and I and sometimes another couple out to dinner, so people room is not important. My main concern is when I want to fold all the seats for traveling and packing. I've seen on some older ones, even with buckets, the magnetic flaps cover everything and don't leave a hole in the middle. But, I thought I seen a picture of a 2017 that did have a hole in the middle with all the flaps down? I'm wondering if I should get the Bench seat just to fill that hole when folded, if in fact there is a hole? Or some other way around it? Any help and thoughts are appreciated! Thanks, Tom
