MPG while towing a motorcycle?
mustang replied to omniphil's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
it drops like a rock ......... my atv trailer is a 7 x 12 flatbed with rails and we see 16-19 mpg with it attached doesn't matter if empty or loaded 16-19 mpg it is ..................... -
I upholstered mine with leatherette vinyl fabric for auto interiors , gives it a nice finished look, well except for the bare cieling and rear walls , bwahahahaha 15 bucks for 3 yards of vinyl and a few bucks for some spray upholstery glue

yeah the heater core sits six inches away , dead center ,and is blowing the 200 degree air straight at the plastic housing , it's almost a perfect straight shot thru the lower console / dash if you turn the temp control to the start of the red zone it doesn't get anywhere near as hot to touch

on the ford website after you build a van there are lots of upfitter options several of which are ladder racks

OEM Trailer Hitch - Gen 2 TC
mustang replied to windguy's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Towing & Upfit Packages
hmmmm I would of thought with a 2 inch receiver it would it least be class II even though the vehicle tow weight is only 2000 . I can vouch that it will safely carry the max ........................hehehe -
Oh I know all about stop and go .......... one of my routes is 27 stop lights in 10 miles . you guys are getting screwed by NY , your gas probably has more clean burn shit in it than actual gasoline !
-
you must have a lead foot ? Or NY state sells you guys some really shitty quality gas . Here in NH , in town is a lot of hills ,constantly up and down hills . My gas mileage still averages 23.5 for combined driving . 2014 Connect LWB Cargo van XLT w/2.5 liter . I agree though get the 2.5 liter , the ecoboost can't do what the big dog does for towing power . speaking of which the only times my gas numbers are as low as Johny guy's I've got 2000 lbs worth of trailer attached to it's ass . and I still get 17-19 mpg
-
see the notch ? stick a flat blade screwdriver in there and pry it up . its a center post that spreads out the sides like a rivet . re useable if you don't screw em up .
-
it's to make up for the wagons that don't have any rear heat ...................LOL !
-
mine does that too................... probably every one of em does it.

Try again , there is 16 different sliding doors in the parts catalog for the different models .
-
t-50 The Nissan NV-2000 is a lot cheaper than a connect , why you ask ? They are made in US and no tax . US customs MADE ford stop this run around on the chicken tax . You can't screw with the US customs office. Theres also a reason the gutted van costs about the same as a finished wagon , us van owners are ultimately the ones paying the chicken tax , as the wagons don't have the tax.
-
I think its only purpose is to keep debris and or fingers out of the door track slider thats behind it
-
Wagons have opening windows in the rear sliding doors vans have fixed glass . also the quarter panels are different in vans or wagons see diagrams from parts catalog below . Also in the parts catalog there are different floor pans for the van vs the wagons in both LWB and swb models , and the kombi van has an even different floor pan . these are the main body parts that a dealer or bodyshop would order if you got in an accident . They would have to be building uni bodies in maryland to get around the tax . and if thats the case there would be no tax as the van would thus be maufactured in the USA . I did my homework before I bought . there aint no way ford is doing this much work in a warehouse in baltimore . Theres also a reason the gutted van costs about the same as a finished wagon , us van owners are ultimately the ones paying the chicken tax , as the wagons don't have the tax.
-
they screw in where your seat belt mounts are in your wagon ...................
-
if they came as wagons and converted there would be a hole there as ALL the wagons have windows there. We got about a foot Boston got hammered with 2 ft + of snow.
-
I don't believe it, got a link to that story dated 11/18/2014 ? if they were wagons converted to vans they would have to have an insert added to where the rear side window used to be and trust me , my van is one pc unibody in that section there is no panel added there . It's never had a hole there for a window . see pic and none of the places where a seat belt would be have any marks at all where a belt would be attached . Every article I've ever seen about the chicken tax was on the Turkish built connects , not the valencia vans.
-
the same d rings on the floor will also bolt to the rear cargo walls in like 6 or eight different spots . I've added 4 xtra to mine . 2 on each side wall and the 4 original ones on the floor gives lots of options for tie downs for cargo . They are like 20 something bucks each and come complete with all hardware ready to bolt down. Mines got the silly slots inthe plastic panels too.The drings are part # 550a74 the carpet only goes back to where the 2nd row seat would be in a wagon . the rest of the van is the floor behind the add on pc . in your diagram the carpet is #13000 in the below diagram #13046 is the vinyl floor covering

The chicken tax thing and converting wagons to vans was only on the one built in turkey the 2014 and up connects come as a van or a wagon with no conversions done in Maryland any more . The US gov. made them stop doing that . source: http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2014/04/current-negotiations-could-end-chicken-tax.html

Driver side sliding door fail 2014 LWB
mustang replied to bikinchris's topic in Exterior Parts & Panels
doubtful they are just slid into a very shallow recess to hold them in IIRC . The one on my left door came out the first day I had the van . Driving down interstate and noticed it flapping in the breeze , just barely hanging on . Sqirted a couple dabs of silicone behind it right there on side of road and has been good ever since . That was well before the little spring thingys breaking . I chalk it up to 1st year model run growing pains .
