Hi windguy i thougth after you got your van you would be all over this forum, how do you like your van positiv negative things?
-
i only use automatic its convinent in city traffic i have a other car with manual
-
it dont come in manual in the states i heard the nissan is same on gas as the TC i think the TC looks better and bigger bigger tires as well i think it has plenty power for its size the transmission is smooth enough just sometimes rough to 3rd or 2nd but it can be avoided depends on how you drive it
-
Its sometimes hard shift to 2nd or maybe its 2nd to 3rd but you will get use to it and it can be avoided if you adjust your driving habits I think all TC have it otherwise it is a snappy little van. Automatic here.

I don't know but is annoying to have such a low MPG in a small van like this i don't know what the dealer could do about it. My 2003 Honda minivan had same mpg with a 3.5 v6.

Maybe you don't understand New York City traffic its stop and go and i don't drive fast or have a lead foot there is a other member on this forum who also from NY city getting similar 17-18 MPG so its not made up by me.!
-
I have the 2.5 L version long base TC if i were you i would not pay extra for the 1.6t The TC is great little van but gas mileage kind of sucks in city (New York) 18 is the best but mostly 16-¹7. It is disappointing while in Europe they getting 40/gallon on a diesel engine. How messd up that is they don't let us have that option.

Because you don't have a trip computer i don't have it either on my 2014 so all i get is miles to empty And im getting very dissapointing MPG 17-18 mostly city driving and some highway I'm light on the gas but for a 2.5 liter four Banger it is not good i got this vehicle so i will save gas over my Honda odyssey but so far same MPG as the Honda. What a shame.!

2015 Van Ordering Experience
Johnyguy replied to windguy's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Owner Impressions
Congrat on the new van but you know what we say show us a picture or it never happened:-P hahaha When the A/C comes on when you turn down the tempeture down its annoying for me i don't like that . Also the air circulation turn it self off sometimes i press it on and after a while turns off i don't like that I like to keep it on most of the time so the fan blows stronger and warms up the van faster The heater is week needs to run the fan on speed 2 to feel anything i mean on the front i have a cargo van , The windshield washer should spread more evenly instead more like two spots also annoying, my left rear washer don't work no liquid comes out i need to fix it . The headligth may need some better quality bulbs i agree. Not good on gas in city don't expect much and I'm not a aggressive driver. Otherwise a nice little van Enjoy! -
Those numbers coming from the computer or you calculated after refill?

2014 Transmission fluid level check/refill.
Johnyguy replied to Johnyguy's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
no problem. the instructions is for the 2014 escape but it has the same transmission so it should work for our TC . anyone who checked the level let us know how is it. -
2014 Transmission fluid level check/refill.
Johnyguy replied to Johnyguy's topic in 2014 Ford Transit Connect
i have not check but i had some oil around my transmission coming from somewhere at the first oil change at 1000miles i have to see on my next oil change around 4000 miles. if you dont have a lift its a little difficult because the vehicle needs to be in level and running at the same time use four ramps for all tires i guess it can be done. -
Happy new year to everyone! Here is some pictures and instructions for the TC transmission to check trans fluid . 1. Start the engine and slowly select each gear position, stopping in each position and allowing the transmission to engage. 2. With the engine running in PARK on a level hoist make sure the transmission is at normal operating temperature 85-93° C (185-200° F). Check if the transmission fluid is even with the oil leveling plug hole. 3. If the transmission fluid is not even with the oil leveling plug hole, add clean transmission fluid in increments of 0.25L (0.5 pt) until the transmission fluid is even with the oil leveling plug hole. Material : Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (WSS-M2C938-A) (MERCON® Lx I checked on my TC and i can confirm there is filler plug similar to the one on the picture shows next to the air filter. this maybe helpful to those who has access to a lift to check trans fluid level.
