  1. I'd say watch Ebay UK and find someone who is willing to ship over here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-TRANSIT-CENTRE-CAPS-GENUINE-FORD-3-ONLY-NO-RESERVE-/280599663991?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41550b1577
  2. Yep thats the Ikea, about 1.5 miles from home. Ok well i saw some LED light strips on ebay, I just wasn't sure that they would be as good as the ikea. I guess I'll compare prices. The ikea ones are about $55 after tax for 4, and i already know they look good in the transit. :D I'll keep you posted on the HID. I saw the pic of your Transit in the intro forum--nice. The chrome rim rings look really good! I ended up getting Volvo rims for my transit. The rims are 17" and 7" wide but the overall tire/wheel diameter is the exact same as stock due to the lower profile tires so the speedo/odo don't get messed up.
  3. Great thanks for the info...i have an Ikea just around the corner and actually since you're from Vallejo, it's probably the same one. I'll keep you posted on the HID install. It would be cool but i think i'll wait until after the holidays.
  4. Azdamay, Have you considered doing a set of HID hi/low beams yet? They have tons on fleabay now. That would be a pretty sweet lighting addtion.
  5. WOW! Looks great, so much brighter than the LEDs in the dome light alone....though that moody blue in the first photo is pretty swanky, reminded me of flying on Virgin airlines and their mood lighting. So how did you wire in the IKEA lights? Do they turn off and on with the other dome lights' switch?? Do you have a photo 'how to' set up yet?
  6. So I am reading that just about everybody has swapped out their stock radio and upgraded to some aftermarket sweetness. Has anybody swapped out their junky transit radio to a different ford oem radio from another model? I only ask for two reasons: 1) I live in the hood of Oakland and my transit lives on the street. Now I've been parking my F150 on the street for years and have never had a break in (knock on wood) but I've always had the OEM radio. I'm affraid the tempation of something aftermarket would cause that window to be broken even if its a cheap $150 radio. Speakers can be upgraded and hidden but not the radio. 2) Now my F150 was a 2004 model, first year of the new body style, and the stock system was the Audiophile system with sub. Not the best system in the world but just fine for my needs. The problem was the 2005 F150 was the first year the radio worked with MP3s. So I swaped out my 2004 radio with a 2005 which may have come from an F150 or a Mustang or another model as they all fit. So I guess what I am wondering is has anyone tried a radio unit from a model with a better standard audio system like a mustang or an F150 or something?? Do the stock radios have any weird EURO connectors or anything? Thanks!
  7. Ok I see you've edited in that you have 10k + miles on your transit. Cool....go get those dyno pulls done!!
  8. First of all I'm glad you love your transit. I'm trying really hard not to sound like a jerk with what follows. Your engine has a break in period. Generally somewhere between 1,000 and 5,000 miles it breaks in and you naturally see an increase in horsepower and fuel economy. Some models of vehicles even have preprogramed break in periods in their computer. Which will alter things like shift points and fuel mapping to assist the motor in break in. Now I am not saying all chips are hokey and your money was parted from you. I'm just saying that it might be best to do your back to back (installed vs. stock) dyno runs when your transit has more than 10k miles on it. Keep us updated.
  9. I see that the lights are bright but just outta curiosity has anyone tried an HID kit from FleaBay or similar? Just wondering how it went?
  10. Ok maybe its just me but the extra windows make the transit look even more soccer mom minivan ish than it already does. Don't get me wrong I wish my back windows opened but adding more windows doesn't seem like the right fit for this vehicle. I mean there is no third row seat, to benefit from this view. These windows take away wall space for cargo, and you lose the security/privacy of the rear cargo area. I'll keep my manly utilitarian transit.
  11. Oh thats good news UK. RLSCHOW, it might be an expensive gamble but worst case scenario you have a mirror that you have to push with your thumb to adjust. May be a pain but I find that. Once I put my mirrors where I need them I don't really ever adjust them. I'd say give it a try!
  12. We do vin look up: http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin= Just type the full VIN after the "=" sign.
  13. Interesting. I just popped over to ebay.co.uk and it looks like the 2009-2011 EURO transit got the same shitty mirrors we did. Bummer. The 2002-2008 version got the sweet blind spot mirrors like 'connect owner UK' posted. Now I am not so certain the earlier ones will work on our transits.
  14. Yeah I was thinking about ordering a set of UK mirrors. They should fit. Any body else tried em yet?
  15. I know I think I did pretty good. Got a silver XLT wagon with 10,000 miles. Its in perfect shape and is fully loaded-even has remote start! Doesn't have the computer though but it has seemingly every other option. Its not a 50 state vehicle but I found out that it is OK to not get a 50 state vehicle in CA as long as it has more than 7500 miles on it when you buy and it passes smog, which the 49 state transit easily does. Paid $17,750 OTD Not too bad since I sold my 2004 F150 FX4 for $16750 and the enclosed trailer I had for $4000. Leaves me some money left over to set the transit up. I'll post pix when I get 'er done.

I would but I have to actually get a transit first! I am just waiting to find the right used one.
  17. Very cool! Thanks man, i was wishing there was a way to search all CL. To everyone else, I'm still looking. Thanks!

Cool so it might be possible to just pull the relay (or fuse or whatever) and not have to worry about dash dissassembly to get the light. Nice that it seems to be stand alone. I was finding it very difficult to believe that FORD would tie it to the cruise control. I know people who have Porsches and Audis who have CONSTANT battles with their TPMS. Good research. Thanks.
  19. Hi all, I am looking for a Silver XLT Wagon. It has to have: Less than 15,000 miles Reverse Sensors 50-State Emissions It would be nice if has: 255 degree back doors Not too many used transits near me. I'm willing to travel if you can meet me by an airport. Road trip!! Thanks for looking. PM me if you have one.

Seriously, has anyone just removed the warning light bulb on the dash? I'm asking b/c I remember awhile back people were thinking that the cruise control function was tied to the TPMS, which would be a shame if it actually was. This seems like a whole lotta bother for a feature we don't need.
