have they replaced your main fuel filter ? i assume your "cogged gear" is a check engine warning light? the FORD dealer should have a computer diagnostic read out for a fault code, and should have had an intellegent explaination for you as to what the code(s) were ? if you basic fuel filter is clogged with sediment, moisture, all the normal diesel fuel nastyness that occurs, begin with that. Never hurts to have clean diesel filter(s) the problem you describe is dangerous, and if it occurs while your in the fast lane ?......... well lets just say the dealer should see your truckette again soon and repair it properly. Cheers from accross the pond c.d.

WOW! from MINI Cooper S to Transit Connect ?!?! nice move, Steering and throttle responce a little slower ? I'm thinking of adding a FIAT 500 to compliment my TC.

if you have remote control keys - then yes - they damaged wiring running to the steering column area for the remote locking module - better get it to a FORD dealer for an accurate damage estimate and get yer insurance involved. Possible just a repair of the broken harness? but some disassembly will be needed, of course.

45220c is the storage/net in the rear doors which are included in the XLT Wagon Premium - which also has the rear side venting windows, and rear side interior trim panels covering the rear wheel humps from the brochure: "With the new XLT Premium, you also get a 4-speaker audio system, enhanced rear-cargo area trim including a storage pocket in the door, rear-quarter flip-open windows and more..."

I actually like the blind spot caused by the middle of the doors - being higher up than a passenger car - no more light glare - and with the privacy glass tint - no need for flicking the mirror to 'night' - following lights arn't an issue. I just keep scaning both outside mirrors - which you should do anyway as a good driver knowing what's around you at all times. The PDC (rear parking sensors) do a great job for backing. I'm sure if all of you think your headlight and fog lights aren't very good, go by your Owner's handbook - headlight alignment against a wall on level ground. Mine were way too low, and my fogs also way too low. You can reach up behind the lower chin lip to hand turn the plastic gear adjuster on the left side of the fog light housings (laying on yer back of course) enjoy your TC yes - i replaced my white fog bulbs with yellow bulbs (i think i'm in france)

so who knows anything about the the FORD factory option alloy wheels shown in the US 2011 brochure ? looking to purchase a set of 4 for my 'summer' tyres, and mount 4-snows on the current steel/hub cap rims correct offset of 52.5 is important and the the neeto rims seen in the euro photos are not available here in the US wheels seen here -=>

8/17/2011 update: 2,000 MILES AND STILL IN LOVE. 800 mile trip through Finger Lake Region New York and very comfortable. Saw only 2 others on 6-day trip (white and red) passenger use and a few other working trucks. MPG's stuck at 25 - 26 @ 75mph I have removed the back seats and will fit it for my 1964 BMW R27 and post photos later - stay tuned smaller m/c owners. Step up on the rear door opening and inspect your roof mounted 3rd brake light. Inspect the rubber mount under the light unit- make sure it fits flush with the metal roof or you might have water leaking into the interior Installed the FORD micro air inlet filter for the air conditioning The filter needed a little cutting at the side so it would fold into the inlet box frame. I kept the square meshed plastic screen ontop of the paper filter to add security against tiny animals and to hold the filter inplace. Need to search for a charcoal filter which eliminates odors. A "odor" filter is listed in the FORD PARTS catalog but not available. They only offer a plain white paper element.I found the filter informationby searching and this seems to be a issue with the FOCUS - not being istalled at the factory for some reason??? When you look at the inlet in the TRANSIT you'll be worried about the ease of junk like leaves, mice, entering the interior with nothing filtering or blocking entry. You find this opening under the passenger firewall trim screen in the engine compartment. Just took delivery of my 2011 Transit Connect ( TC ) Wagon XLT and I'm very impressed! I worked for Mercedes-Benz for 19 years, and for the last 21 years with BMW. The asseembly, and hardware is as good as BMW's. I even have full voice command of entertainment, Bluetooth which is only available in BMW's at DOUBLE & TRIPLE the price! Fit and finish is excellent. I can't find any flaws in the assembly or the dealers prep for delivery. Absolute bargain. I have had an attraction ever since seeing their introduction here. My need is for loading a vintage BMW (1964 R27) motorcycle. The van that this replaced was a vintage 1987 Plymouth Voyager with 2.5ltr. mitsubishi 4-cyl. This is identical in all measurements with the bonus of higher ceiling. And all of the present day digital electronics, fuel management, ABS, and Roll control. A honey of a mini truck. I hope this helps anyone shopping, researching, or on the fence about buying. The driving is solid, straight, unruffled over rough pavement. I drive it gently and don't expect it to prove it's 0-60mph test times. It's about transporting, camping, enjoying the journey in a stylish little truck with a BIG additude. Thinks it's a Sprinter?! If I want to travel FAST - I drive my motorcyles or the 2002 325xit BMW I'll post photos later. UPDATE: 26 MPG on local back roads stop'n go. great handling great brakes no engine braking - just keeps rolling needing more braking- possibly why some have complained about front brake pad life? really needs tiny bit of gas pedal for town driving. Silver production date Feb 2011 - delivery from dealer swap-in inventory 6/23/2011 Park City Ford Bridgeport, CT. XLT WAGON, folding 2nd row seats Reverse Sensing System Nokia Bluetooth HELLA Triple-Air Horns

taking delivery this Thursday 6/23/11, Park City Ford Bridgeport, Conn. Silver, Wagon XLT, dealer swap from Torrington, Conn. Bluetooth, rear parking aid (PDC) as we call it at BMW Park Distance Control have been talking to a few trade people for over a year who drive TC's for work and all very positive about the size, ease of parking, fun to drive. many local companies like dry cleaners, deli, flower shop, elevator service, security service drive them for local deliveries. It's a great visual design for eye catching advertising. I've worked with Mercedes-Benz for 19 years, and now BMW for 21 years. Road race motor cycles, sell out of print motor books at car swap meets and sports car events, So this purchase is smaller than my needs in the past - but fits perfectly with my approaching retirement and down sizing. Last FORD was a New 1990 Aerostar extended w/4 liter V6. That served me very well for 15 years - I hope the TC performs as well. Photos and driving impressions to follow soon. Cheers

sounds like one, or both of your electrical cooling fans aren't operating at the front? there is a FAN RESISTOR mounted next to the fans maybe poor plug connection?, bad resistor?, seized fan? bat coolent temp sensor? or it's wiring/plug?
