    Rear License Plate Mounting

I understand, here's a plate holder with multiple mounting points for American cars (which I have on my TC):

  2. Hello escobar. The first thing you should be doing is buy the Ford Transit Connect workshop manual. Next, the cylinder pressure did not go up enough during your wet test to convince me it is a worn ring or cylinder problem. Here is a test to check your valves. Remove the sparkplug and pump air into the cylinder. You will need to have a tight seal around the sparkplug hole, a cone shaped rubber adaptor around the air chuck is what is needed. You will need to make sure the valves are closed so taking off the valve cover might be the best way to make sure. Pump in the air and have someone listen for air coming out the exhaust pipe. If you hear or feel any air coming out, it is a bad exhaust valve.

  3. drilled another set of holes in the rear license plate, about 1-1/4" lower and remounted the plate higher so that it now sits inside the recessed area around the plate. left about a 3/16" gap between the top of the plate and the black plastic above it. also added a strip of Black High-Density Rubber Foam Weatherstrip Tape to the top edge of the plate so the metal doesn't touch the paint. I think it looks better and the extra set of holes in the plate don't seem to be an issue. see the BEFORE and AFTER pics below. BEFORE AFTER
