CR296
Hello, I have a 2013 Connect (2.0, auto,130k) The a/c compressor will not turn on from the controls. When I get under it and straight wire the compressor it will come on only then. I have a second 2012 Connect that I have swapped out the in-dash a/c control panel and it still will not come on. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.
mrtn
Your outside temperature sensor may report freezing temps. The compressor does not turn on to protect the condenser from freezing.
zalienz
In addition to what mrtn said, if the system is low on refrigerant, the low pressure switch will not allow the compressor to engage to prevent damage to the compressor. Unless you have a set of A/C gauges, know how to use them and access to refrigerant, that's a repair shop item.
G B L
Your TC is 7 years old checking the refrigerant charge is a very good idea. If you get the right R 134 refill kit it will come with a low pressure gauge will give some idea of the refrigerant level in the system https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Synthetic-Conditioning-Refrigerant-Dispenser/dp/B007USCM7E?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_2
