Why did Ford change the 2.5 for the 2.0 in the new Transit Connects?

Does auto start stop actually accomplish anything? On mine it kicks back on in less than 5 seconds most of the time (and that's without me letting off the brake a little or moving the steering wheel.) Auto S/Stop does not use the actual starter motor does it? I know there is an accumulator but wondering how it actually works (and or if it's the enhanced mechanical failure equivalent of ethanol).  I have the 2L/8 speed. Generally like the vehicle but worried about longevity.

It does. Especially in a city with long traffic light cycles.

The cycle time is dependent on what is running in the TC at the time.  If the heat or AC is on then the cycle time will be short.

I think is uses the regular starter but the unit is heaver duty.  Make sure the Battery is in good shape if you do a lot of city driving.
