windguy
I noticed the rear panels on a 2019 TC cargo look different compared to my 2015 ones. Ford is till adding the seat belt cut-outs at top front area but now I see a bump out on both sides. Seems like the top profile is different too. Has a deeper dip in the middle area. Just curious what's going on with the new models. This pic was from a dealer's inventory posted online. Rare to see a cargo model with a lift gate. Most seem to have barn doors. donuts
Those areas (plastics etc) in the rear look identical to my 17, including the extra hump over the right side rear wheel well. I noticed florists and caterers seem to prefer the lift gate over the barn doors especially for loading/unloading in the rain. Plus they rarely add roof racks... Fifty150
I believe that Transit Connect is the only cargo van to offer a liftgate option. I always preferred the barn doors. My Dad said that he wanted the liftgate since you never see them on cargo vans, and you can stand under it while it's raining. The old guy's wisdom proved true. Within the first few weeks of having the van, there was a big storm, and I stood under the liftgate. Kept me dry as I worked.
