fix your broken armrest

Recommended Posts

does your armrest sag, and not stay ratcheted into position? I am considering designing and manufacturing a new pawl, that will go inside the armrest. this is a 30 minute fix and would include the pawl and a retainer washer. If you are interested, message me. cost should be about $20 shipped in 48 USA states, more for overseas. Ford does not offer this part as best as I can tell. broken pawl attached as a photo

Is this for the old shape? Weird that it would break. I climbed on mine twice a day for a decade and it never failed.

My drivers armrest just started collapsing.  I pulled it apart and it does seem to be this pawl that is broken.

I would definitely be interested in one.

Bought used 2010. Clearly prior owner leaned heavily and broke pawl.  junk yard wants $$$ for seat backplate, all for a crappy arm rest.  instead, im modifying a HD ham radio antenna mount with 180° vert and 120° horiz play w firm lockdown.  under $20.  attach up to a 4" wide, cut to length 1/8" hammer plate (will never bend).  then top off w wide selection of eBay armrest, center console padded cushion or make one for little $. Your DIY srmrest sttaches to cargo divider.  easily detaches too.  Ebay and YouTube solve everything.😁
