haggart
I was at Goodyear to have a hitch installed in my 2012 FTC and the guy told me I had the wrong tires. He said I needed "commercial" tires for safety reasons. I'm pretty sure this is BS but wanted to get some confirmation from this forum. I've Googled and don't see anything to support what he said. I think he was just trying to scare me into buying tires from him. The maximum load I plan to haul is a Malone Microsport trailer with 2 Hobie Mirage Revolution 11's (roughly 75 lbs each). Would all-season passenger tires be OK?
mrtn
Yes, your tires are good if the load rating is correct, 96 for the TC IIRC. Commercial tires have C on the label, ie 205/65R16C.
G B L
The spec here is 205/65/15 XL and the load rating is 1709 lbs per tire. If the tire you have meets this Spec you are Ok.
mrtn
Oops, it's 2012. Yes, XL or 95. BSUPC
