bikinchris
A cold front came through a while back, and the drop in tire pressure set of the light on my dash. I aired up the tires and the light won't go off. I tried driving at a steady speed and that didn't work. Ugh.
mrtn
It should reset itself after driving for a while.
103west43rd
Hello bikinchris. Tire pressure drops 1psi for every 10degreesF. The "cold front" would not have caused your issue unless the tire pressure was so low that a 1 or 2 degree drop in psi set off the warning. Let us know if driving turned off the warning light. bikinchris
I did have one tire lower than the rest, but it seems to be holding air fine now. The light hasn't gone off even though I went out of my way to drive a steady pace above 50mph for at least 5 minutes. it is supposed to reset itself after 2 minutes of steady driving above 50. 2013TransitConnect
Today, I OVER inflated the tire to 45psi and the light went off. Is that the front tires?
bikinchris
No, it's the right rear. it is supposed to be inflated to 43 pounds according to the door jamb sticker. The front is supposed to have 45, I think. So the tire pressure sensor needs to be corrected. next oil change, I will have them do it. 103west43rd
Hello bikinchris. Take another look at your tire pressure sticker on your drivers door jam. I would be very supprised if you tire pressure for your front tires are higher than your rears.
bikinchris
I stand corrected. I did have the pressures backwards and the back did have the higher pressure.
