Have I missed anything?

Hello all. So I purchased a 2014 2.5L about a month ago to use with my small IT Business.

 

Anyway, I picked her up with 113,683 and below is what I have done thus far? Am I missing anything to keep her running great? Perhaps Belt Replacement? Fuel Filter?

 

-         113,726 Take 5 Oil Change

o   Oil Change (Duramax Full Synthetic High Millage 5W20)

o   Engine Air Filter & Cabin Filter

-         114,138 Take 5 Oil Change

o   Coolant Exchange (Shellzone MV AF/C 50 DR SZAF50DR)

 

-         114,482 Replaced (4) Spark Plugs with OEM MotorCraft SP-530-X

-         114,482 Replaced (4) Ignition Coils with OEM MotorCraft DG-522

-         114,570 Replaced Transmission Fluid with OEM MotorCraft XT-10-QLVC Mercon LV Automatic Transmission Fluid (5 Quart)

Engine air filter is a must.  Cabin air filters are suggested.

 

While you have the belt off, look at the water pump and check the pulleys.  If you are already in there, it wouldn't hurt to replace the thermostat.  

 

If you still have the OEM brakes....... I would change the pads, resurface the rotors, and bleed the lines.  It would also be a good time to refresh the suspension components.  The front should be okay.  Although you never know.  You could find a leak or something.  If the van was used for cargo, maybe rear shocks.  I doubt if you will need new coil springs.  And with that many years & miles...... new tires.

 

Maybe buy a new battery.  It could very well be the OEM battery.  Add some new wiper blades before winter.

Engine air filter and cabin filter done already. All wipers done as well as all lights replaced with LED's

 

I will get new belts/thermostat on order, are there any good writes ups on the replacement? Possibly including the thermostat, belt tensioners and what not? When "Looking" at a water pump, what am I looking for aside from the obvious leaks?

 

Brakes look to be pretty new. Rotors look good, lots of meat on all the pads, however fluid may be a good idea on the next brake job.

 

What about the timing belt/chain? Thanks!

Some people never do anything with the water pump.  If it's not leaking, leave it alone.  Check to see if it's leaking.  Some other people believe that 's preventative maintenance.  Change it out and install a new one before it fails.  Modern car parts are better than cars from 50 years ago.  Belts, hoses, thermostats, water pumps, timing chains...... tend to last longer.  In some cases...... you're only taking all of those parts off to get to the timing belt or timing chain.  That's when you install new parts, as opposed to reassembling old parts.  The last water pump that I had to change was a 5.0 with over 300,000 miles.  I've seen modern cars with 500,000 miles that still had the original water pump.
