  1. My tank is also 15.8 gal (59.8L). Gauge showed 1/4 left when I stopped to fill up. 30.2L and the pump stopped & wouldn't let me "top-up" any more. I believe the gauge is deliberately adjusted like this as a 'safety' measure. My last car [2005 Vibe] did the same. Back to what I like about the T-C: I plan on installing a small plastic storage cabinet behind 2nd row seat pass side together with my cat's [travel] litter box (both removeable). All seats behind driver folded down (sleep space). Good-to-go as daily-driver and for quick overnights. I do not want to remove seats nor do major mods as I need full seating capacity at times. My 2016 LWB wagon is far more versatile than my old Vibe [which had served me well], but only about a foot longer & just as easy to manouvere.
  2. Living in Montreal,Canada I've had block heaters on all my cars and was very glad I did. The suggestion for an inline-heater is very good. These typically only need to be spliced into a coolant hose & circulate the coolant by thermal action - so entire engine is warmed, not just the upper (typically) block. They generally use same or less current than block-heaters, too. Warmed-up engines are easier to start, get windows defrosted faster & heat interior faster. 3-4 hrs is all thats needed for block heaters. Lucky that my 2016 TC LWB wagon came with factory block heater. Now if I could just lift it an inch or so (inexpensivly) would be great. PS: Having a "trickle-charger" available for really cold weather is good - especially if, as me, you mainly do short trips.
  3. I'd like to add coil spring spacers [kind that go on top or bottom - NOT between coils] all around to get 1-1 1/2 inch extra ground clearance. Not for off-road but to avoid trouble on campground paths & snow-covered roads. Seems as it should be possible & not expensive.
  4. I think the left part of the switch is the dimmer for dash illumination. Europe is very strict regarding placement of headlight beams on the road. My gen2 (2016) has a separate switch for the fog lamps.
  5. Problem with the rooftop panels [which I would love to have!] is that prices here in Canada are considerably higher than in the USA, even accounting for exchange rates !! This applies to almost everything. And, FIFTY 150, our Ontario/Quebec (& the rest of Canada - except Vancouver Island) get severe winter weather, as new-england states and much of northern mainland US. That puts a damper on "cost-effectiveness" of solar panels.
  6. Although I've only had my 2016 LWB XLT for a 1 1/2 months, fully agree with all the comments. Versatility was main reason I looked at TC's when replcing old car. Manouverability was next on list. Always preferred small , versatile cars.
  7. Thanks for the info. The small solar panels are 'battery maintainers' not chargers - which I already had for quite a while. Just a precaution as most of my driving is short trips. Have a homemade "trickle" charger [used often in the past] and couple of good battery chargers. Just not familiar with all the 'delayed' electronics and being cautious. With the help & info from this forum {very appreciated}, I intend to verify what items are always 'on' and what is switched. That will allow me to use accessories correctly & safely. The van has factory Block Heater. I've often used the block heater on my old car in winter - parked in driveway but no shelter from weather. Also, on past cars, have PARTIALLY 'blocked' front of radiator during the winter to allow car to warm to (& keep) operating temp faster. Here in eastern Canada our winters get quite cold
  8. I plan to install 3 small solar chargers - 1 at each rear side window and 1 [bit bigger] on the dash. Will these cause any problems?? They all have built-in 'blocking diodes'. That should cover most sun angles. Want to use these as I don't like all the 'stuff' that keeps going after taking the key out of ignition. My TC is always outdoors (no garage) and our Cdn winter will be coming.

Bought 2016 LWB XLT wagon this past August. Getting prepared for our Canadian winter - snow/slush/salt/freezing/etc. Got 215/60r16 snow tires. Will see howthings go, as have good feelings about the van.
