That's a great meme!

I understand the requirement for windows. I don't understand the one for "No camera". I have loved the camera in every vehicle I've driven [with one]. Loved them so much, I installed this one in my T.C. Cameras are great tools. I still use my mirrors, etc., but they may not show you a cat or dog standing back there. A camera does.

I used to think I liked my T.C., mostly. As stated in another thread, the storage in the "cab" sucks, but I was able to remedy that to an extent. But I have to say ... Wow! With the past week's heat wave here in Central Florida, I gotta admit, I am NOT liking the A/C system!!! The upper vents are at a bad angle. I cannot aim them low enough to hit my torso. They blow on my forearms when I am holding the wheel, which gets uncomfortable quickly. There are no vents that allow for my upper legs and torso. The vents at floor level are aimed straight down to the floor and don't really cool my legs well. I am not sure if there's any way to correct this, so I'll have to "cope". If I'd known this before, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

OOOO If you cut the tail off, and skin it, I'll take those furs for my fly tying !!! When can I expect the package in the mail ??? -
I installed a "gifted" back up camera on my 2017. Bolts on the license plate position, which is offset too far from centerline. So, I can see what's behind me, but I can't truly tell "where" it is !! I'm currently looking for an alternative, or some way to move this one.

I'm hoping for that. As much as I like driving, I also like dozing off. My hour drive to and from work could be power naps, if my car didn't need ANY input from me !!! Agreed ... this is a topic for less friendly forums. But most will also agree with all of your statements. Many don't know what "more" or "less" government means, and will protect their uneducated opinion on the matter with the vilest language. Excellent !!! I wasn't trying to be "mean" or anything. But with above comments ... many people have close calls (bent rims and near misses) and still don't get it. The human brain is a simple computer. We have lots of storage space. We seem to be able to do multiple things at once, but that's not the case. Our minds can only concentrate on one function at a time. Even "air traffic controllers" ... they aren't better at juggling multiple functions at once, they're just able to concentrate on the functions of screen watching and communication to the exclusion of all else. Their minds can bounce back and forth with much greater ease than most. But if one of those functions is distracting, then the other fails. I was in the air wing ... and had the opportunity to be in the tower a few times. You can watch the controllers concentrate on the screen ... THEN talk to the pilots. They are rarely trying to do both at the exact same time. They probably aren't any better drivers than any other professional who has strong focus at work.

I spent 14 months in London, back in 1985/86. Never did get used to some of their terms. "two countries separated by a common language" George Bernard Shaw (maybe)

Yet, you didn't learn the lesson. A "split second" of distraction ... and your close proximity to her rear bumper. And you still think it's okay for people to have distractions of any kind. "Determining what's good for you" is RARELY what's ACTUALLY good for you. Look at all the people who KNOW that smoking or eating too much is bad for you, yet they still convince themselves it's okay. Humans are selfish creatures and "good for me" is rarely "good for everybody else". Texting or talking on a phone while driving is proof of that.

I am adding this, only because it is a very common reason fro water loss. I do NOT know if it applies here. Coolant systems are pressurized. The pressure is regulated by the radiator cap. When pressure exceeds maximum levels, the cap allows pressure and steam to vent into the reservoir. It's vented in below the water line, and the steam condenses when it hits the water. This tends to "fill" the reservoir. As the system cools down, and pressure inside drops, it draws water back in from the reservoir, lowering the level. Hence the "hot" and "cold" coolant level marks on the reservoir. If there is NO water in the reservoir, then the steam escapes and you lose water. If the cap is allowing too much to escape (weak spring, seal leak, etc.) then it blows through the reservoir and you lose water. If the hose between the reservoir and the radiator is damaged, you can lose water. You said the dealership pressure tested the system ... did they, or have you, put a new cap on it, yet.

I had a flat ... last Friday. Found an Exacto blade stuck through the tread. Rope patch and air ... no changing of the tire. I'll get it replaced when I do my first oil change next week.

A hit to the bumper and the airbags didn't deploy ??? -
DON'T !!! Texting and driving is the worst, admittedly. But the next worst drivers I "experience" on the roadways, people talking on their phones. Holding it in your hand isn't the problem, so hands free isn't any better. It's the amount of concentration one uses up listening, deciding and responding on the phone. None of those actions are as easy as they are in person. I think ALL cell phone activity should be banned while driving. And for you tech addicted ... fools ... yes, you CAN drive, and LIVE, without using your electronic communication devices.

This is the only part that makes sense, to me. If someone is buying consumables (automotive or edible) at a swap meet or flea market ... well, they deserve anything and everything that happens to them.

Um ... eggplant was your color of choice?

Just a note on oil and filters. What I type here is based on oil and filter manufacturer representatives who've visited our school. 1) There is NO manufacturer making filters, or refining oils, that are making "substandard" products. They MUST be, at least, standard. 2) This means that, if you're doing your oil changes on or before the scheduled intervals, even the cheapest oil and filter will be sufficient. You can argue against this, but it's the truth. 3) NO company is going to leave itself open to lawsuits intentionally. No company is going to produce products that guarantee failures even if used correctly. 4) If your vehicle requires a specific oil, then cheaper oils may not work. But if your vehicle requires SAE/API automotive grade oils, then ANY oil with that specification on the bottle MUST meet minimum requirements and are sufficient.

I don't wear boots. I can't carry that stuff in my running shoe.

Money saving techniques of the automobile manufacturers. Federal regulations say they MUST supply a jack. The regulations say they MUST support the vehicle. The regulations do NOT specify under what conditions the jack must support the vehicle. So, they provide a jack that will barely support the vehicle on a flat, level, concrete surface. Any other conditions and the jack may or may not work ... but that's not "their" problem.

Yea !!! (comment dripping with sarcasm) With the population rapidly exceeding the resources of this planet, medical research is extending lifespans. I hope all these "advancements" in longevity result is a massive reduction in the ability to produce offspring. If not, the darkest science fiction future ever depicted in the movies isn't as bad as it's going to get. And sooner rather than later. -
If I ordered a van ... and waited four months to be told I couldn't get it?!!? First thing I'd do is threaten Ford that my next stop is the local news stations, to scream about this kind of treatment. If they didn't do something to make it right, I'd keep screaming until it was a national news item. I'd make sure that I wasn't the only vehicle sale they lost. Second thing I'd have done ... go to some other brand to buy a similar vehicle. I like my T. C. ... but I'm not "married" to Ford or the T.C.
-
I'm already in the process of making something to replace the ovals. I am just trying to decide if I'll leave the T.C. name on there. No offense meant, to you aficionados who love your vehicles and put free advertisements across the top of the windshield, etc. It's just not my "thing". I joined this site to show what I've done to mine, and to get ideas of things that might make it more useful. Like OldSchool, dealer information is removed. But, I'll wait until I've gotten my free first oil change and service, since they'll add another sticker, likely, at that time. If I've removed previous stickers, they might put even more on there.
-
Nope. My vehicles are tools. I don't name my tools, nor do I modify them in any way that's not functional. Lowering, raising, "souping up" or painting. Bumper stickers that "say something" are okay, but ones that advertise fro some company aren't. I don't like paying a company to advertise for them. I like Bass Pro Shop, but I'll only put on a sticker of theirs, or wear clothes with their logo if they give it to me for free. I won't buy those items.

Oldschoolfool ... that picture isn't the way the jack was placed. That's what happens when a scissor jack fails. It's "off center" because it fell. I've had that twice ... using one and as soon as the tire was off the ground, the whole truck "swung" to the side as the jack ... drooped over. I will NEVER use a scissor jack again.
