  1. I might be wrong ... but I saw a similar button on a recent rental car. In the dark of night, if you push that button, I BELIEVE, you'll get foot well lights. It was a pretty neat feature, if you dropped something down there. The light was too dim to be seen during the day.
  2. AH !!! I didn't even think of the "built in" USB adapters. I'll have to look for some of those ... replace the "cigarette lighter" power ports. One less connection in the circuit is always a better idea. Thank YOU, for the picture!
  3. Don't try to keep up with me. I could be a GREAT wood artist ... but I get impatient. I can remember my Dad taking a month or more to finish a project. I think, when I start a project, "I'll take my time, make sure everything comes out perfect ..." But then I start getting in a hurry, and so, I am just an adequate wood worker.
  4. I figured I'd do a video on how I installed my dashcam.
  5. I put one in my T.C. Cargo version. Took the driver's side windshield trim off. That exposes a hole through the body that accesses the engine compartment. I ran a fuse extender from the fuse block, hooked into a "key on" fuse. The wire was then routed up, under the trim, to the over head area, and out to the camera location. It turns on and off with the ignition, as designed.
  6. Thank you. It's a fun project, so far. I'm picking up my rivet nuts tonight, so I should be able to get back to work on it.
  7. Hey ... at least you know she isn't wasting money on grocery trips. On the other hand ... I can't stand dread locks. Always look filthy, to me.
  8. Wife can't even find "insert" type deflectors for the front windows. I don't have rear side windows, so don't need those. But the only deflectors we can find, period, are tape on types. I haven't looked, myself, but Wife is very adept at finding things.
  9. Just recently bought my 2017 ... I'm hoping it'll be 10 to 15 years before I start talking about a new vehicle at all.
  10. mrtn ... I found out that Armor-All will clean it and take the tackiness away.
  11. I spent a little time last night installing 1/2" Styrofoam sheet into the window panels. Making today's round trip to work before I post on it this evening. I think it was better this morning ... I'll know better later.
  12. (1) Thank you. I'm hoping to get shelves and other stuff in there ... put some insulation in today. I didn't video it, but I'll include pictures of the installed panels later. (2) I tried a few other solvents today. Then, just out of ideas, and looking at an old bottle of Armor-All I never use ... I tried it. Eureka !!! Clean up the mat and left it smooth and tack free. (3) Fishing. Other than traveling to and from work (100 miles a day), the van will be full of fishing gear for my weekly trips to the rivers or lakes. (4) Will do. Definitely plan on documenting all the work I do on this vehicle!
  13. Let's see if this works. First post after introducing myself. I decided to create a little more room in my 2017 T.C. The front 1/3 of the cargo floor is a false floor !!! I hope this helps someone else.
  14. Hello all y'all. (y'all is singular, all y'all is plural), Got my new 2017 Transit Connect Cargo van two weeks ago. Looked all over for information about the open space below the cargo area floor. Couldn't find anything, so I got into it myself. I'll be posting links to my videos for the conversion. Question ... does anyone know how to remove the nasty "anti-slip" finish from the cargo floor mat? I've tried degreaser and mineral spirits ... neither worked. I'll replace that crap with carpet if I can't clean it off.
