  1. I've discovered that XL 2014-16 models that can have LWB + the 1.6 Ecoboost. It's just no dice for the XLT or Titanium.
  2. Do these vans have start/stop technology? My Range Rover did this to save gas at stop lights.
  3. The Ford press release also says the first 2017's will start arriving in September.
  4. I sent an email to Ford informing them that their "build and price" section is falsely showing black headlights on the XLT and Titanium trim lines. I realize I'm the minority here for those who care about it, but I think it's important...especially since special orders will not match the preview photo on the site.
  5. I just asked my local Ford dealer about the 2017 orders and he informed me that official orders will not be taken until at least 2 weeks from today. He also stated that he has the 2017 order guide, but it does not list a Titanium option for the SWB (like the Ford release says it would), so it appears some of this press release is BS (or my dealer is). I'd also like to know what the new trim levels are. It's sad how the Transit Connect is treated like the bastard step child of their vehicles. Not even the dealers seem to care about them.
  6. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2016/03/01/2017-ford-transit-lineup-new-engine-for-e-series-chassis-cutaway.html New smart technology for Transit Connect Ford Transit Connect – America’s best-selling compact commercial van – also gets enhancements for 2017. SYNC® 3 with 6.5-inch touch screen and navigation is standard for 2017 Transit Connect Wagon Titanium. The system features faster performance, more conversational voice recognition, a more innovative smartphone-like touch screen and easier-to-understand graphical interface to help Ford customers connect on the road. SYNC 3 is optional on Transit Connect XLT cargo van and Transit Connect Wagon XLT. Transit Connect Wagon will be available in two new premium packages for Titanium and XLT trim levels, while short-wheelbase vehicles can be ordered in Titanium trim for the first time. Reverse sensing, automatic headlamps, roof rails and six-way power driver’s seat are now standard equipment for Titanium and XLT trim levels. Guard Metallic paint replaces Tectonic Silver Metallic for Transit Connect Wagon late in the model year. Ordering for the 2017 Transit Connect cargo van and Transit Connect Wagon begins online March 14, with vehicles available at Ford dealerships in September.
  7. There's basically 3 reasons I want the SWB. The Ecoboost engine, the flip forward seats, and I like the looks of shorty van better. I have another, 7 seater van, so I will use the SWB Transit 90% of the time. And yes I know the numbers show the 2.5 and 1.6 similar, but I've driven both and the 1.6 is much MUCH better. Peak torque at 2500 vs 4000. I also own a Fiesta ST with the same engine and that little car hauls ass.
  8. Wow 7" shorter? That's significant. It's so odd to me why manufacturers come out with a vehicle to compete with another and don't improve upon it. Also, do they make a passenger version of the Pro Master? If they put the multi-air turbo in a passenger version I'd at least consider one.
  9. To each their own. You sound like the perfect customer. Don't see, don't care, just take my money.
  10. I have only discovered the pattern with 2015 and 2016. You can check yourself. I haven't studied 2014s yet.
  11. OK I think I've solved it. I've literally been comparing dealer inventory on 2015 vs 2016 for a few hours and this is what I'm finding: 2015 - Nearly all Transit Connects, in all trims, have black headlights 2016 - Only XL models get the black headlights. XLT and Titanium all have chrome headlights. So Ford is acting like this is some sort of upgrade for the higher trim lines, which in my opinion is completely wrong. The chrome headlights look cheap. The black fits the theme of the van and makes it look more sporty.
  12. It must be related to the trim, but try to find out what options/trim/year/wheelbase, etc will get you chrome or black headlights. You can't find it. It appears to be random, but definitely more common in 2015. In fact, if you look at ANY 2016's for sale right now you will find every one of them has chrome bezels, yet with no mention of the change anywhere from Ford. Nearly all 2015's I've found have black. Also, if you build and configure a new Transit Connect on Ford's sight, the stock photo will always show the black headlights, which is simply not true.
  13. I'm in the market for a SWB Connect. It will serve as the family van for me, my fiance and our 2 small children. I love vans, but do not like American minivans. The Transit is the closest thing we get to a Euro type van.
  14. I've been doing a lot of research and I've discovered an odd pattern. 2016 models have chrome headlight bezels and 2015 have black. Since I do not like the chrome it appears I am forced to buy a 2015 model. Another stupid decision by Ford! Hopefully they bring back the black headlights for 2017.
  15. I'm going to be buying a SWB Ecoboost XLT wagon soon. I'd much prefer the LWB, but the 1.6 motor is priority. I also own a Fiesta ST so I know how great this engine is. Ford really shot themselves in the foot by limiting the configurations. I'd love to hear from someone at Ford why such a decision was made.
