  1. Hi Matthias, the item in question was fitted from new and I guess is a strengthening brace. The folding cage would meet this when opened away from the driver to allow the use of the seat by a passenger. Hope this helps. Regards Andy
  2. So could have left the wires off the back of the sockets when replacing the centre console insert under the heater knobs?
  3. Hi Ash, welcome to the forum. Had my Connect since March. First van, first front wheel drive vehicle and first Ford. Been a staunch rear wheel drive man for nearly 30 years, but needed a small van. I'm near Birmingham. Happy driving Andy
  4. In honesty, it would be much easier to splice into the cable loom as it goes over the rear wheel arch and then extend back to under the dashboard. It's not difficult to route lightweight cables under the plastic floor liner next to the front seat. As 103 writes, you would have a lot of difficulty tapping into the cabling at the general module. 5. Yes, this is an annoyance, especially with the proximity of the grille to the armrest. I have a nice pair of Infinity's from my BMW that I wanted to fit, but realised that they would have to mount through the door card to have any chance of fitting. 6. Damn, haven't got cruise control on UK diesel models. Shame! 7. Hi encore8, finally got round to uploading some pics today of interior mods and power distribution. There's enough power in the 12V leisure battery to run most things, charged from split charge relay or onboard mains charger. Panel with voltmeter shows charge in either leisure or van battery. Space for an inflatable bed, curtains with magnets attach to body where bulkhead would be, providing a dark interior for sleeping at night. Night heater can provide warmth or some air ventilation. 8. I have a single curtain to use as a blackout in my TC. I've put small disc magnets in the edge which attach nicely to the flat areas on the outsides of the door pillars where a full cage would attach. It keeps out the light, but could be use as a barrier in the winter to separate the cargo area from the cab. The volume to be heated in the cab will be smaller. As to your capability to perch on a bucket without creating a talking point, I'll leave that to you! 9. I knew that there was a headlining available (according to the Ford parts list) but I hadn't seen one installed. The 230 LWB doesn't come with one, but I presume that the multi seat variant labelled as a Tourneo in the UK, would be a bit spartan without one. The model ranges must differ quite markedly depending on where you are. In the UK, I think I'm correct in saying that you can't get a high roof LWB model with 2 glazed cargo doors and rear glazed barn doors. In the low roof version, there is a crew van, which may have glazed cargo doors, and the choice of barn doors or a hatch door. I would have preferred to have the glass the same as yours, it makes a dark coloured vehicle (mine's Panther Black) a bit lighter, as well as improving visibility from the side at road junctions etc. I will get some pics posted when I have a mo. 10. On my UK RHD model, the speaker is attached to the front of the reversing module under the dashboard. Because I have added front parking sensors in the front bumper, I wanted to make the difference between front and back more obvious. On my BMW, the rear senor speaker is behind the driver in the rear trim, whilst the front one is under the dash. I extended the cable on the rear speaker in the Connect, mounting it above the rear wheel arch area behind the panel. Now I know if it's the front or back sensor activated. If you were to break the connection to the speaker, then a switch could easily be fitted for trailer use. Of course, there is no failsafe if you forget to re-activate it again. Ooops! 11. I have recently upgraded the interior of my TC 230 Limited. Having only owned it for about 3 months, it's still an on-going project, but most of the hard work is done. I like the way your headlining flows into the area below the roof. The whole of your installation is very neat and well thought out. With mine, because I have made removable panels for mains sockets, RCD, lighting etc, I wasn't able to make the roof lining as neat as yours. I have added some anti-drum panels and 2 layers of insulation under the trim material for my headlining. It has improved the noise levels in the van, but then there is anti-drum and insulation in all the doors and side panels as well. Making these bespoke coverings and trims is most time consuming! I'll get some pics posted asap.
