  1. Nice work! Thanks for the 'in transit' perspective. Now up to what sized caliber bullet will that stop?
  2. Does this site work with the iphone 3Gs? So far I have not been able to access it from my phone, has something changed in the last 24 hrs?
  3. Volvo 17" Mestra wheels, they look really nice painted black or dark grey too. Saw quite a few painted ones when I was shopping around. So you checked out the swedespeed forum? Pretty amazing how many wheels Volvo makes huh? Their reference guide is good but it does need to be updated with the newer wheels. These are also the lightest Volvo C30 OEM wheels at 21 lbs each. I don't have a scale (i'm just fat and I accept it and don't worry about it.) but I wanted to compare the OEM transit wheel/tire combo with the Volvo wheels and tires. The old lift test had them about the same. Oh and for everyone else that wanted to check out that swede speed classified section for wheels and tires: http://forums.swedespeed.com/forumdisplay.php?48-Wheels-Tires-Classifieds Check out their Wheel image sticky at the top of the post.
  4. How about some pix of it in the transit? Does it just sit on the passenger seat? Does it buckle in? What keeps it from flying forward, you know when the enemy spies try and box you in with the black gov issue Suburbans. I am in the process of making a new arm rest since mine had to be "eliminated" to fit my moto hauler. I am making mine outta wood though, since I didn't need it to be bullet proof. I am also hoping that my arm rest/center console will benefit the passenger. I'll post pix when I get 'er done.
  5. I think you can purchase the spoiler from FORD UK. Its oem for their transit connect sport model, but jeeze, I can't imagine why you would want to. The transit doesn't go fast enough to need down force. The transit is limited at like 92 mph and a small spoiler like that probably wouldn't add any down force until about 90 mph. And there is a reason why the front piece is called an air dam. It catches the air and keeps the front end down also going to reduce your fuel economy. By the time you get it done the buzzard will look like da Ali G mobile. Boo ya ka sha! Check out fordtransit.org the UK site i guess. This car always reminds me of the styrofoam boxes McDonalds used to put their burgers into back in the 80's and 90's!
  6. Oh wow, the transit vans?? I was really hoping they would come over here and eliminate the E150 and silence the competition. They are such cool looking vans. Where is "around here"? Colorado?
  7. Pretty sharp looking Euro special. Like the color. Roof height looks a little low to me. Also don't like the hatch back style door, the transits are much more versital. Also another awesome 6 or 7 spd. trans/diesel combo delivering 49 mpg. http://www.motorward.com/2011/01/2011-vw-caddy-range-extended/ http://www.motorward.com/2010/07/2011-volkswagen-caddy-van-revealed/ Check em out.

  10. Looks great! Love the backwards writing for the review.
  11. Hmmmm. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut for the most part on cali drivers but this emoticon shows how I feel when I drive in Tahoe in a winter snow storm: Actually a good example was my buddy who, decided he loved snowboarding and wanted to do more of it. He got a set of "snow" tires, or what he thought were snow tires for his durango. I saw the swampers and immediately told hime that snow tires are very skinny and have squared off/sharp edges from tread to sidewall. He informed me I didn't know what I was talking about and promptly headed to tahoe and spun his truck out in a huge snow storm on the way home and did $3000 worth of damage to the front end. Fortunetly no one was hurt. He confided in me later that his damn tires floated up ontop of the new snow. again
  12. I was just gearing up for this service myself. Thanks for the torque spec also. Does anyone have a manual outlining what gets lubed at this service. I was looking for a service manual on CD on fleabay but i haven't seen one yet. Thanks!
  13. I grew up in wisco, so I am also pretty used to winter driving, but out here in Cali where I live now, they actually have mandatory stop/check stations and require chains for EVERY two wheel drive car heading towards Tahoe durring a winter snow fall, you see chains or cables on some of the most unlikely vehicles and yep you should have no problem getting them for a transit--you might want to try the cable type. Let us know how the fuse pulling goes.
  14. Did you guys retorque your rear axle u bolts?? Supposed to be done at 15K.

    Cup Holders

Oh NoDiesel you HAVE to post a photo of that!! That sounds like something right outta the 'Red/Green' show.
  16. I had noticed these last summer on Nissan's website and even considered getting past the ugliness, until I saw that it was longer than my F150!!!!!!!!???!?!? Yowch! Would not work for me and my garage/driveway. Plus the fuel economy was what I was after, but yes that interior is pretty nice. This NV is really a competitor for the E150's, I hope Ford brings in those sweet Euro Transit (different from transit connect) vans to compete with this pug nosed monster.
  17. Might want to post this in the tires/wheels section.
  18. Just got an idea, typing in one of the other posts. You could possibly pull the traction control power relay from the box under the hood. I don't have my owners manual with me so I can't confirm that such a power relay/fuse exists. But if the snow is really bothering you, this might work. Just be careful!!
  19. Yeah I just live with the light on, actually i made a custom idiot light canceling mechanism, which consists of a small round piece of black electrical tape applied to the glass speedo/tacho cover. I tried to pull the fuse for the TPMS from the main power relay box under the hood but it didn't prevent the light from coming on. Maybe I pulled the wrong one? But I have been driving it for weeks now w/o the TPMS and the cruise control/everything works fine. It was suggested early on here on this forum that the TPMS was some how tied to the cruise control system. Rest assured they are unrelated.
  20. Hi Ron, My remote start works always when I hold the button long enough. The manual says three seconds but I have found I have to count at least 4 seconds. Apparently my idea of three seconds and ford's idea of three seconds differ slightly. Not saying that this is your issue, but just wanted to weigh in so that you didn't think your post was ignored.
  21. I understand that this is a pain in the a$$ but have you guys considered tire chains/cables. If there is no built in traction control override switch---and I haven't hear of one, Ford can't or won't add one in. I'd bite the bullet and buy the $75 dollar cables, so you don't get into an accident while you are waiting for ford to respond.
  22. Sorry Steve for the lack of response. I am not sure what the noise is, may have something to do with the leaf springs? Are you loaded or unloaded when you hear the noise?? Is it intermitant? There sometimes, gone other times on the same road? How many miles on your transit?? If you are at 15k the lugs that hold the rear axle to the leaf springs (i believe) need to be retorqued maybe they have come loose? If not, I would suggest trying these two products which could help 1)stop the noise or 2) deaden the sound. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Timbren-SES-Ford-Transit-Connect-2WD-2011-FRTC-/140494727178?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b623680a http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VANRUG-FORD-TRANSIT-CONNECT-VAN-2010-2011-/110629736865?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19c20bd1a1
  23. I was thinking about leather too, heres what I found: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-Ford-Transit-Connect-Van-Leather-Seat-Covers-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem588ba623c4QQitemZ380300043204QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories They appear to be good quality, and you can pick the colors. You would probably have to have them installed since they replace your stock cloth seat covers. Kinda pricey will probably run $1000 after the install. Keep us posted on what you decide. Are you writing from the UK?
  24. I have 3 hub caps for sale. Selling seperately--so if you are looking for a spare. $25 each shipped to you.
