Yes it looks great. Hey did they just bolt straight on without any trouble?
-
Figures. I missed it by three months GRRRRRR. Well I guess the gas savings over those three months offsets it some.

Where did you get your hitch? -
LOL I think the answer is: the van ia a car. My TC has a little over 5K miles on it at this time and we use it for service work. It carries tools and supplies like a small van but drives like a small car. The thing I like most is how well it just drives.

What is a Grand C Max? -
I don't know how long my cheap camera will last but it works at night very well. I just wish I would have gotten a little larger screen. Yours looks good so where is it made?
-
Mine is the XLT and I use it for service. I guess we have about 500-600 lbs of tools and equipment in it. With 1,200 miles on it we are averaging between 23-25 mpg in town with some short highway runs. No complaints to date.

I totally agree. I think Ford just hasn't jumped through all the BS goverment hoops at this point. -
I can see it making an excellent taxi. As far as the 60K electric TC....I think a $6.00 toy TC would be a better option.

Ford Transit Connect may deliver profits

Umm I agree. Ford needs to advertise this van to sell them. The people we meet had no idea Ford made a mini workvan. Heck I've sold two for them just talking with customers and showing them my TC. Or mabye that's the plan; let us sell the TC's for them. So far mine is working great! -
Congrats and enjoy. Mine is used for service work and so far it's working out great.

Yes I do have the remote key fob thing and I will give it a try. Thanks for your help I really appreciate it.

Hey guys is there any way to keep the rear door from staying locked? Every time we get out we can open the sliding doors but have to always unlock the rear and digging for keys with stuff in your hands can be a pain. Thanks.

Sure its a VR3 2.5"screen but I suggest at least a 3.5". Ebay has some Peak brand that looks pretty good with the same features under $100.00.
-
Actually I got mine off craigslist but I see them on ebay. I got the 2.5" screen and picture quality is very good. If I had to do it again I would get at least a 3.5" screen. We keep ours on all the time when we are driving and it's nice to see behind you all the time. Being off center really doesn't matter very much as the view angle easily allows you to see both sides and rear without any blind spots. I just went with the simple solution. My wifes 09 Audi S6 has an excellent rear view camera system showing your vehicles path as you turn etc. but for this service van the $60.00 I spent and the ease of installation with all time viewing works like a champ for me. It has a option to run a wire for the camera (not included) but also IMO not needed. It may be needed for a long RV or bus but picture quality as installed in the TC is very good. It also allows up/down adjustment, reverse viewing, upside down viewing (I don't know the purpose), brightness control, and contrast control. This thing works so well and was so easy to install I will be installing one on the back of my New Holland track loader.

Congrats Scott. So how's the TC doing in the snow?
-
Are you using it for a daily driver or work vehicle?

The camera came with a plastic section that mounts to the top rear two licence plate bolts. When you remove the lic. plate from the van you should see two extra holes near the center of where the lic. plate was bolted. These holes have threaded adapters in them. I drilled one out with a 5/16 bit and ran the wire through that hole. I then sealed the hole with the wire throught it and bolted the tags back on. I also removed the plate from the inside the door for access. The camera only needed power the signal is transmitted wireless.

Very good question.

I mounted it in on the center vent. It came with a base and a little clip thing that just snaps onto a vent slash. I was going to mount it with the base under the overhead storage tray but this worked out to easy.

Thanks for the welcome.

Hey just a thought but have you considered a back up camera. I just installed one on my 2010 TC. I found it on craigslist for $60.00 new and it works like a champ. I have also see a ton of them on ebay under $100.00. Very easy to install also.

Hey guys new to the site and new to the Transit. I sold a 2003 F250 SD 6.0 diesel and purchashed a new 2010 Transit XLT in white. It came with a metal/lexan divider and a drivers side shelf unit. We purchashed an additional nicer shelf unit from the dealer (demo) for $100.00 and replaced the stocker with it. We then cut the stock shelf unit legnth down and installed it behind the drivers side to extend it all the way to the bulk head. I have also added a back up camera and a roof rack. So far this makes a very nice service vehicle.
