Cooling fan comes on as soon as I open my door

Hi folks, I’m not sure if this is the proper area to post this but I have a 2014 connect. I’m having an issue, as soon as I open my drivers door the engine cooling fan comes on. It doesn’t make any sense to me because the van can sit over night with the keys in my pocket and I open the door and the fan kicks on.
I’ve changed the coolant temp sensor in the head, and tried a BCM out of another van with no success.
The AC pump will not turn on even though it’s full. I’m not sure if that would be part of the same problem or not.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Like almost every other problem with modern vehicles, you need a scan tool to diagnose this. A good scanner will show if there are any temperatures or other parameters (PIDs) that are reading out of spec that are causing the system to turn on the fan. The scanner will also show all error codes, DTCs (not just the check engine light) A little research is required to see what causes the fan to turn on and what would also prohibit the operation of the AC. Getting data is easy but understanding what it says is not.  For less than $100 you can get an OBD Ex converter and run Forscan on a PC (or your phone) to monitor any parameter in the vehicle. Otherwise you may have to take it to a shop that has the tools and experience.

Again Don is correct about the trouble shooting process.

Does the fan never shut off ?  does it go off and on with the door?

If  you turn the heater to the  off position does the fan shut off?

If it does not find the fan relay and pull and test it.

Is the Forscan hard to use?
