Mozer67
I have a 2016 TC XL and recently took it to have a stereo/backup camera installed and now cruise control won’t stay engaged. I have not contacted the shop yet because I wanted to see if anyone on here had any ideas for things for me to check before I go in there. No CEL or anything showing up on dash but when I turn cruise control on at my desired speed it stays on for about 6 seconds or so then shuts off. It allows me to repeat immediately but same thing happens every time!? Any help would be appreciated.
Willygee
Any progress yet?
Don Ridley
I suspect there is a problem with the LIN network that reads the steering wheel controls (SWC) buttons. Maybe the installer connected something that is affecting the LIN. But I have not researched the details of each button on the steering wheel. Mozer67
My cruise control buttons are on the left side of the steering column on a lever looking unit. I bought the van used and now after doing research it looks like it might be an aftermarket brand (Rostra). Maybe I can check their website for troubleshooting tips. Do you think the vans computer would have had to be reprogram to accept this if it is aftermarket?
Don Ridley
I don't know anything about the Rostra units (except recognizing the brand). If you become Forscan literate you can buy a used steering wheel with cruise control and activate it. There is a good forum post about this.
