dktool
2013 XLT Do the front seats have airbags in them ? I'm thinking about taking the seats to an upholsterer to try to "De-Stuff" them, we all know how freaking hard they are ! dktool
Good to know, now I wonder if driving it with the passenger seat out will screw up the airbag system. I had a vw beetle that I took the pass seat out to haul something and it fried the airbag control module. dktool
How about gen 1 having SIDE airbags ?
mrtn
I don't think there were any installed.
dktool
I ask about the side bags because I saw the wiring schematic for them in the factory electrical schematic manual I purchased. Likely shows all possible variations of builds.
dktool
As it turns out the seats DO have airbags.

jrm223
There's an old thread in the forum that has information about some specific resistor values that are used to 'fool' the airbag system into thinking the passenger seat is still present, after you remove it. I tried the resistors on my gen 2 2015, but the G1 values didn't work for it, so my passenger seat is still in. Works out well now that I have a g/f and need that second seat anyway, haha.
