Bluega Posted September 25, 2019 Share Posted September 25, 2019 I've got a 2014 XLT Ford Transit Connect Passenger Wagon and I'm wondering if it is equipped with Bluetooth. My understanding is that to setup Bluetooth you press the phone button and get a code to put in your phone. But when I press the phone button, all that happens is that the car radio is muted. Any suggestions on how I can figure out if I have Bluetooth? And if I do, then how might I get it working with my phone? Attached is a picture of the kind of radio system I have. Don Ridley Posted September 25, 2019 Share Posted September 25, 2019 I think you need some version of SYNC to have Bluetooth. My SYNC1 system has SYNC settings in the menu (menu button). What's involved to put SYNC into the TC? I have a 2016 and the radio is missing the phone button. I assume I'll need to swap that out for one that does. The sound quality improvement and features would blow away the factory stuff. Plus you could get Bluetooth phone calls and the deck come with a mic Kenwood eXcelon DPX793BH $129 Axxess XSVI-5524-NAV harness $40 Antenna adapter $6 schoche transit connect dash kit $90 But then again, getting SYNC in your van might be super cheap.... Don Ridley Posted September 26, 2019 Share Posted September 26, 2019 Adding SYNC would be a project. There are no specific instructions. You need to find an APIM module from a SYNC donor vehicle. Then you need to research settings in Forscan to make it work. Lots of Google searches and studying configuration from other vehicles.
