nottooloud
Recently bought a 2013 XL. Been working on it, taking out the shelves, putting in a backup cam. The driver's side slider was chattering instead of locking, so I was working on that for several hours yesterday, all doors open. Finished up, parked it, hit the key fob to lock it and nothing. Truck was dead. Figured the battery was probably tired, and that one more start had killed it. Put it on the charger. This morning the charger says all good, but no response from the truck. No dash lights, no key-in-ignition buzzer, nothing. I jumpered it to the truck next to it, still nothing. I started the other truck, and theTC woke up. Dash, lights, start, run, all good. Drove it to a parts place to load test the battery, and the battery is good. Now what?
G B L
Before you put the jumpers from the truck did you check the battery voltage? If the voltage goes below a certain level the electrical cut off goes into play. It might take the voltage rise of the truck running to reset the protection. nottooloud
It was the main battery cable.
nottooloud
Or not. Down again. Full charge on the battery. Zero signs of electrical life.
nottooloud
If I jump from the battery to the lead that runs down to the starter, the engine turns. Nice and strong. Doesn't start, of course, because nothing is on.
nottooloud
This time it was the lead from the battery to the engine compartment fusebox.
