Roy Stratford
Hello folks, Newbie on here, so hello. seems a Great source of info! I have a 2014 SWB Transit/Tourneo connect, It has the stock 16" alloys on it, but does not come with a spare wheel (just the emergency inflation kit) I want to carry a spare as there is the space for it, so I am considering picking up a std 16" steel wheel for this purpose. Now my question! Will the nuts/studs which currently fit the alloys be suitable for the steel wheel, or will I also need to carry an alternative set should i need to fit the spare wheel? Thanks guys, Cheers, Roy
mrtn
I have used the same nuts for both with no issues on both my old Connects. So not much help here. I see you have "Zetec" engine listed in your profile. Are you sure it's not Ecoboost?
G B L
the nuts should be no issue, My 2014 Xlt wagon has alloys and the supplied spare is a steel wheel if you can access the parts site it should bed easy to get the under car tire lift assembly. Or you could buy the one mrtn will be selling when his Propane conversion is complete.
Roy Stratford
Thanks guys, I've got a steel wheel on the way, so just need to sort the carrier now. It's the 1.6duratorq engine in mine. As it's a tourneo, the model/trim is a zetec
mrtn
That's new. Zetec was an engine family used in Escorts and other small cars.
Roy Stratford
Yes I know I thought it odd being a diesel that they'd call the model a zetecc I've had 2 focuses with actual zetecc engines
