lunger
Hello, Can anyone tell me the difference between a 2015 and 2016 XL Wagon? I was getting ready to purchase what I thought was a 2016 but noticed it was a 2015. I did some research online and the best info I could come up with was the "whats new in the 2016 TC" info and it seemed to emphasize the "fold flat" seat feature. I assume that means the 2015 folds, but not flat. Many thanks in advance for any feedback.
NateTheFknGreat
There's the 5 seater which is considered the SWB (short wheel base) and the 7 seater which is the LWB (Long wheel base)... The SWB seat folds behind the front seats as the LWB drops flat to the floor...
syncro87
The 2016 LWB passenger wagon has the option for 2 bucket seats in the second row instead of a 3-position bench. Not sure if this is an option on the SWB, as I have been focused solely on the LWB. One nice thing about the second row buckets is that they recline a little bit...you're not stuck sitting fairly bolt upright. This was the 2016 change that caught my eye. I think I'd choose the buckets over the bench.
mrtn
It may be because of the 3rd row option and its accessibility. You can easily climb to the back if there are only two seats in the middle.
DapperVan
I've sat in the rear bucket seats and they're pretty nice, but the seats themselves are pretty narrow. They wanted to leave a large isle between the seats for rear access as mrtn said. They are not an option for the SWB. The LWB vans also get rear A/C while the SWB don't. 2015 model year wagons have black headlight reflectors, 2016 are chrome. 2017 adds Titanium trim to the SWB models and drops the 1.6 Ecoboost for all trims. Rear parking sensors become standard.
