  1. We have a saying in the UK when anything smells bad, "smells like a Turkish brothel". Errr, remind me, where is the TC made???
  2. Dan, I would be interested to know how much you Americans pay for the TC pads. Over here in the UK they vary from about £25 to £40, (cheap brands to ford parts). My TC needs some pads, and I have seen that Mintex sell matched pads and rotors for £70, thats about $113 to you guys. (Mintex is a good brand over here, supposed to be dust and squeal free)
  3. I do not know if this web page will work for you north American TC owners, but by putting in my license plate number, (you guys may have to use the vin option) I can get the build spec as it came out of the factory. This was fine for me, as I am the second owner of my TC, so did not order it myself. Vehicle look up
  4. A firm called husky do a set of snow chains that fit the TC tyre size, 195 65 15. Are they available over there in north America?
  5. Fords UK actualy list a TC towbar in their sales catalog, part number 1-449-603 Remeber though, over here we do not have the petrol engine and auto transmision, we have 3 different 5 speed manual diesels, 75, 90, and 110. The specs for the 110 version engine is" Grossing at 2,340kg, T230 can handle a gross payload of 898kg and haul a braked trailer grossing at 800kg" Download an e-brouchure on the UK TC here UK spec TC Also, look at the ford accesory brochure, is has a few nice TC accesories.
  6. Over here in the UK, the TC van only comes with the lashing rinks on the floor, but we do a full size ford van, that comes with lashing rings all over the van, and I managed to buy a bunch of 11 from someone on ebay who took them out to panel out the back. These are quite weighty. The ford part number stamped on the floor lashings, thats a big D shaped one, is CES7B 6C11V550A74 AB and the part number for the elongated D lashing ring is CES7B 6C11V550A74 BA. Here is a link to the elongated D ring, on UK ebay, (these are aprox 4 inches long in total) Lashing ring/tie down
  7. I dont have AC in my UK box, but I do get the lag on the throttle pedal, and I have the diesel engine. I though at first it may be because I have a habit of pulling away in 2nd gear, as if I pull away in 1st, the diesel BHP is so fierce, you can come to an abrupt stop before engaging 2nd. LOL
  8. I hope if you do find some, they are a good price, here is a link to some in the UK, but they are soooooooo pricey. Smoked/mirror effect repeaters
  9. I wonder why ford never used the europe TC mirror, which has a blind spot alreadt??!!!?? :(
  10. Thanks for the welcome Stan. The folding cage behind the seats actualy impose on the cargo area by about 4 inches, and are shaped to allow the seat to go right back on the runners, although it may not allow the seat to recline fully. The full size van is just called a transit, as they have been since about 1965. Like your econoline, its just a name. Its the same size as a sprinter. (approx) The word "connect" only came into the equasion when the liitle version came out in about 2002. This is my secont transit, but my first connect. I owned a Transit in 1971, and following the trend from the States, I customised it, mag wheels, grabber tyres, and custom interior. This one I own now, is purely a work van, as I do courier work.
  11. The flat top TC is 7 inches lower, and also 10 inches shorter, most of that is in the middle, making the side loading door really tiny.
  12. I am not too familiar with whats available in North America for the TC, but here is a link to a web page that sells chrome bits for the TC here in the UK. Vanmods There are some Italian sites that also sell roof rails, running boards and bull bars, I will try to locate them, just so you can see whats what.
  13. Here is my TC, it has the front end that came out before being released for north America. I went for one with double side loading doors, not too common over her in the UK, the passenger seat folds down flat, and the cage folds out into the drivers compartment, allowing a longer load to be carried. Also, one pic shows it parked to a full sized ford transit.
  14. Hi everyone, I finaly got rid of my old renault kangoo, and am now a Connect owner. I know we have had them for a few years here now, (and in two different sizes) but I've had mine for 4 weeks now. Its not a brand new shiny one, its a 3 year old shiny one. (its my own vehicle, and I am not wealthy :( ) As with all british ones, its a 1.8 diesel manual.
