Yes, I would rather have my power steering go than my throttle to stick wide open. You don't power steering, I was trained without it as well as ABS and traction control. You need your brakes to work. I will be sticking with Ford for the rest of my life mainly due to the fact that they did not take the bail out money from Barry Soetoro and Ford is not owned by the federal government. All Government Motor Vehicle dealers around here have been reporting huge drops in sales due to the bail out.

My fix is cheaper and more simple. I had a roll of electrical tape laying around, so I snipped a piece off and covered up the light. Fixed!

For comparison. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class starts something around $31k, I believe. I would never pay $60k for a TC, never! If they put a diesel it would get triple the range of the petrol and last a million times longer. The body rust before the engine would go bad.

Will do. I'll get a photobucket or something tomorrow/later tonight/whenever. All my pictures are set to an insane high quality, so, it probably didn't care for the file size. -
Yes, the stereo is just about useless, I went for a Alpine INA-W900 with some 6 inchish mid grade Alpine speakers. Turned out great!! It has navigation and iPod integration, you can add a backup camera and bluetooth if you want to. They cut me a deal since I'm a good customer and got some other stuff at the same time, I payed $1,300 for the stereo and install, not to bad in my mind.

In the U.S. it is illegal to disable TPMS, all vehicles made after a certain date, I don't know a specific date, must have it. You can figure out a wow to disable it, but the dash light will remain on. I want it removed from the car, it's always on since it's always wicked cold in AK, but I don't want to remove it for legal issues. If your car is in a wreck removing TPMS wouldn't help you out in court...

I really liked the back bar as well, but I need as much clearance on both ends of the van. I'm sure I'll end up adding it at some point in time… If I'm going to ram through a roadblock, it'd most likely be with the front!!

The forum won't let me upload pics, sorry. It just sits while I click on "Attach this file." http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2050542&id=1438024792&l=217797b652 -
I drive with a fairly heavy foot, I get about 23ish on a "normal" day, when it was -45 degrees, I was getting like 15mpg. I've noticed the TC doesn't enjoy my arctic climate, the doors open weird and it doesn't like to start when it's wicked freezing.

Yep, top and bottom. Looks fantastic and super functional! Great for when the sun is reflecting off of the melting snow and ice. -
See attached image. I've been looking for a 'roo bar or "Five Column Insurance Company" for some time and Aries is the only people State side dealing them. We call them "pedestrian collectors" where I trained, Moyock, NC at U.S. Training Center. We put them on the front of Suburbans and in the Middle East you'll be doing 130 mph through crowded towns, and you speed in close proximity to pedestrians, so, it's a "pedestrian collector!" In Australia they are 'roo bars and Five Column Insurance Companies. http://www.ariesautomotive.com/applications/commercial.html /Edit Picture uploader doesn't work, so no picture. Follow bottom link to picture of the pedestrian collector. http://www.ariesautomotive.com/applications/photos/Transit-Connect/Transit-DELUXE-Push-Bar.jpg

Long time prowler, just joined. I (obviously) have Transit Connect. I'm from Alaska and I love my TC, I used to have a H1 and a C32 AMG, both where cool, but this van has a look like nothing else has, it's different. I'm one of the very, very few TC owners in the State, there are only something like 3-4 Connects including mine on the entire Peninsula. I will be modding my TC as I can find parts, I just ordered a ECU remap thingy at like 1300 AK time. I have a Aries Automotive, Inc pedestrian collector up front and some HID lights. Alpine stereo inside. I'm looking for some Carbon Fiber as I wish to redo alotta-buncha of the trim and paneling on the interior. I might put pics up depending on how crappy my internet connection is at the time.

Every 3k miles with Mobil 1 synthetic. You won't regret it.

Same thing on mine after I got it. Turns out I bottomed out and that rammed a bunch of rocks and dirt up into the engine mount, cleaned it out and no more sound. I didn't have any issues with the heat shield.

Things that could be improved on the TC

In the words of Jeremy Clarkson: POWER!!!!!!!!!! The TC really needs more if it. Discs all around would be nice. 5 or 6 speed gearbox, figure something out with the center console, mainly get rid of the gear select and put it on the steering column or make it a push button gearbox.
