If you only have one brand of car you are working on then Forscan or the Toyota version is the best . If you have multiple types of vehicles and friends that descend on you for help a good general purpose scan tool is needed. If you are getting one spend the extra money and get the Bluetooth version the improved ease of operation is worth it.1 point -

I was having that problem with my 2019 tc. I decided to use the magnetic idea, but I glue the magnet in the rubber dot in the upper console, and a magnetic kit from home depot to the visor, and finally problem solved.1 point
