  1. Happy new year to everyone! Here is some pictures and instructions for the TC transmission to check trans fluid . 1. Start the engine and slowly select each gear position, stopping in each position and allowing the transmission to engage. 2. With the engine running in PARK on a level hoist make sure the transmission is at normal operating temperature 85-93° C (185-200° F). Check if the transmission fluid is even with the oil leveling plug hole. 3. If the transmission fluid is not even with the oil leveling plug hole, add clean transmission fluid in increments of 0.25L (0.5 pt) until the transmission fluid is even with the oil leveling plug hole. Material : Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (WSS-M2C938-A) (MERCON® Lx I checked on my TC and i can confirm there is filler plug similar to the one on the picture shows next to the air filter. this maybe helpful to those who has access to a lift to check trans fluid level.

  2. One more suggestion to those 2014-2015 Transit Connect owners having heater problems. Log onto http://www.nhtsa.gov/Vehicle+Safety/Recalls+&+Defects , the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and file a complaint. This will get your problem in front of the government as well. Twitter and Facebook may help with Ford, having the issue posted on the government website cannot hurt.

  3. As an update, I made a somewhat passive aggressive post on my Twitter account about the heat issues I'm having. Almost immediately, a customer service rep contacted me and created an "escalated" case with their department to get it into the dealership and looked at. I'll update as I go through this process and see what kind of resolutions I get. Some other observations I made. I also would like to take this chance to remind you all to check your coolant levels. My reservoir was almost empty when I first started working on this heater issue. I filled it (which is a royal pain) and this morning it was about a 1/4" below the line. While it's possible that this may be part of the problem with the heat, I doubt it. They would have to have majorly screwed up to ship a vehicle so low on anti-freeze that it can't build pressure. I'm going to the have the dealership check for leaks just to make sure. This wouldn't be the first dangerously low fluid I've found since I received my TC.

  4. Both our sliding doors (2014 LWB) have been very hard to open. At some point I noticed that the nylon roller that sits in the upper track had some material flaking off - like the roller was not sitting properly in the track. Also one of the spring-loaded receiver things in the B pillar that the door interfaces with in the closed position fell out. I just pushed it back into the pillar. (There are two of these in the B pillar, one at the top and one at the bottom of the B pillar. Sorry I don't know the right name for this part - is it a latch?) We took the car in for service and they did some adjustments, apparently including adjusting the tracks themselves. The doors are now effortless to open and close. I don't know if this is related to the problem you are describing or not. The service writer seemed to think that the doors hadn't been properly adjusted at the factory.
