If you do purchase from one of these ford dealers make sure that they have a service dept staff that knows what they are doing. I have been to both ford dealer here in my town and both the sales staff and service staff are nothing but morons. Took the sales staff 30 minutes to figure out how to open the hood to show me the engine compartment. After they had to play with the computers and make some phone calls to figure it out is when I pointed out the sticker on the drivers side of the dash that has nice pretty pictures showing you how to open the hood. Man they got pissed because I let them search for 30 minutes like the fools they are looking for the answer. LOL
After the purchase I started taking the van in for its routine service per the warranty. This is where the so called service people showed just how stupid they are. I started noticing that stuff was not done that was written on the service ticket as being done. So I set the up for failure. I marked my tires, oil filer, checked tire pressures and ran my windshield washer fluid tank empty on the drive to the dealership. After they handed me the service ticket after everything was said to be completed, I asked the maintenance manger to walk outside with me to look the van over. (this was done with many customers watching) I opened the hood and showed him the empty washer fluid tank that was marked as being filled, showed him the markings on the tires that were still in the same spots yet the paper showed they rotated my tires, and she oil filter with my name on it that they say they changed. Then I had him use their tire pressure gauge to check my tires. This is where it got real funny. The front tires were 35 psi and the rear tires were 35 psi also. But yet the fronts started out in my drive way at 40 psi and the rears at 49 psi. The service staff and the manager all stood there in the parking lot and argued with me that the ford specs for the 2012 Ford Transit Connects calls for 35 psi in all 4 tires. (The funny part) I pointed out the sticker in the door jam that calls for 40 psi front and 49 psi rear to them and they claimed it was wrong. The whole lot of customers got a real good laugh out of all of this as they were all asking for refunds and leaving.
This has been the case at both of the ford dealerships here. Dont get the wrong impression by this post. I like ford and ford vehicles. But if you want the service DONE and done right dont take it to the dealership, and if you have actual questions you need help with ask someone who know something about cars as sales staff know nothing but what the stickers state on the windows. And this is not the case for all dealerships, some of them actually train their staff on the vehicles they sell though they are few of them. Just my 2 cents (or maybe a 1.50). Still loving my TC, and even more now that I know she is being taken care of properly. (Doing the service stuff myself now)
