Nyvideo
I just got a 2012 Transit Connect XLT Premium Wagon. In the rear area there are slots along the top of the side panels, right below the windows. The slot looks perfect for a cargo cover, but my dealer can't find any from Ford. Does anyone know if anyone makes one? Edited December 25, 2011 by Nyvideo
Mikeeshaq
2012 XLT Premium? Lucky dog! I have a 2010 TC. The price for each of those plastic molded pieces that have the slot is $150 each, so adding those to my van seems out of reach. The dealership should have a brochure/list of after market customizers. I am sure one of those will be able to make something up. It sure wont be 'off the shelf' but that will be $$$
mrtn
The North-American Connects are actually not Transits but European Tourneos converted. So you'd be looking for Tourneo Connect's cargo cover.
Nyvideo
I'm not ready for something custom, since I'm hoping I can find the cover that was designed for it. I looked up the European version and all I could find was a privacy package that had the tinted rear glass and cover. Any idea who might sell that cover separate? I can't find a Ford accessories site for Europe.
mrtn
Any idea who might sell that cover separate? I can't find a Ford accessories site for Europe. I'll give a call to my Ford dealer tomorrow to see if I can get the part number etc.
Nyvideo
I'll give a call to my Ford dealer tomorrow to see if I can get the part number etc. Thanks, I appreciate it. I've been hunting all over and no luck so far. Once I get a part number, the next obstacle is getting a company that will ship here. mrtn
The part number is 1440805. Costs €494.
Nyvideo
The part number is 1440805. Costs €494. YIKES! that is 494 Euros? If so, its a $645. cover! Is it just a retractable cover? I appreciate your checking, but if I read that correct it sounds crazy! Mike
mrtn
It's supposed to be a hard cover. That's the dealership price. They're known for outrageous pricing here. They are expensive and incompetent. Unfortunately a near monopoly.
Nyvideo
The part number is 1440805. Costs €494. I found a Ford dealer in England that wants 251.62 euros for it. I'm still checking around, but I might see if they will ship to the states. They do have to special order it though, shich is why I am still checking around. lestroischenes
I have a Tourneo Connect cargo cover for sale. Not sure whether that would fit. I'm in France though. (I also have a two bar roof rack for sale 90 euros)
johnsonmy
I have seen photos of Tourneo Connect Wagons with a vinyl retractable cargo cover. http://occasion.largus.fr/auto/annonce-47374188_ford-tourneo-connect-1.8-tdci75-210c-62000.html Edited November 24, 2013 by johnsonmy
