ioverholt
Hello, I'm new to the forums. I bought a clean '15 Titanium LWB in March. My right side sliding door won't stay open. It seems like there is a wheel in the rear of the center track that holds the door in the open position. For some reason the wheel on the right side doesn't stick out as far as the one on the left. I don't know if the wheel moved out of alignment or maybe a rubber coating cracked off and effectively made the wheel smaller in diameter. Any clue how to replace this wheel? Looks like lots of screws hold this track to the body; I hope I don't have to remove the track. Thanks in advance!
MattsTC
Funny, my sliding doors get stuck in the open position, have to manually handle the center track arm from behind the door, pull and rotate to get it to release. Started when the car wash guy tried to force is closed and I think bent something. First one door, driver side, then happened to the passenger side. ioverholt
Days after posting this, the door stuck open. I drove it to the dealer with the door open (felt really dumb) and they had to replace the center track. I saved the "bad" part and I can't really tell what broke. It cost $500-something to fix a part that in my opinion should never fail. I did make a complaint with FoMoCo and nothing came of it. MattsTC, wish I saw your post before paying the dealer to fix this. The center track arm feels rigidly attached to the door. It doesn't seem like rotating that arm is possible. sKiZo
Somewhat similar thing on my 2011 with the door not latching open. I ended up beating the latch lever some with a few strategically placed blows with a four pound hammer and no problems since. Which is something your dealer should have probably at least tried ... Beta Don
When I got the recall to 'fix' the sliding door latches, I hesitated . . . . for a year or more . . . . because I'd read all over the Internet & here too that after the dealer performs the recall, the doors never open the same as before. After ignoring several mailings about the recall, Ford eventually called me to make sure I got the recall done and they assured me this wouldn't be a problem, so I reluctantly took it in Wish I hadn't! Took it back a total of 3 times and showed the service manager how the passenger side door opened (the same way as before the recall) and then showed him how the drivers side door opened - Much more difficult to get it to unlatch. He agreed, so they took it apart again and 'carefully' examined the way the new parts were installed, but it was the same after they were done and the manager assured me everything was installed properly . . . . and nothing could be done about it! That's the last time any dealer's service department will ever touch my van, for sure . . . . and that was under a recall - I would FOR SURE never PAY them to screw up my van! My first 'issue' (under warranty) was with the way the passenger side window raised and lowered - About an inch and a half each time you pressed the switch - It took 5 or 6 presses to fully lower or fully raise the window. They kept the van for a week while they ordered and replaced several parts, including a new window motor . . . . none of which fixed the problem. In the end (after they finally read their literature on the van) it was a computer reprogramming issue and took 5 minutes to fix. If I had been a paying customer there is not a doubt in my mind I would have paid for every new part they installed in my door - None of which was needed or fixed the problem - but they would NEVER have admitted those parts weren't needed, or that I shouldn't have to pay for them Don
